Lmao! I won't mention any names with this reply. Some people taking panadol for another person's headache. Sit down there and be analyzing what's possible or not possible. Some Nigerians will wish for something bad to happen to others so they can say "I told you it's not possible, you didn't listen". See that one analyzing Green card like he was there when the lawmakers made the laws. It's always better to shut up and let people think you're ignorant than to speak and remove all doubt. I know your type, I won't give you the unnecessary audience. I don't let keyboard warriors tell me what I can't do. Why do some Nigerians foam in their mouth when they hear of another Nigerian's success? Keep telling me what I can't do lol. If you don't know how many odds I've defied in my life, don't speak. I'm a permanent legal resident who's going to complete his naturalization (i.e. become a U.S Citizen) before the next world cup. Visit a therapist if success stories or other people's happiness ruin your mood. 22 Likes |

Perotti: Thanks. My advice is for them to stay the hell away from stupid people lol. Once you see someone who doesn't want your progress, plan your life on code and keep telling them you're failing. It's gonna make them happy when they think you're failing. If you hear you can't survive on $1k a month, simply say "Yes o, that's true". Agree with them, spend your $700 quietly and save your $300. No need to argue with negative idiots. Secondly, read the rules and stay legal. Look at success stories and emulate positive vibes. Block away negative nonsense and never ever let anybody tell you what you can't do. Lol 21 Likes |

Tunmise100: I was going to ignore this but decided to give you the benefit of doubt, help you and others like you before it's too late. Didn't you just get your visa? You've not even spent anytime here, you're already joining gang that won't help you and suggesting people are misinformed. I'm sorry for you. When I came here, I visited a family. I heard stories of how people got their citizenship within 5 years of coming here. Those stories were stories that sounded too good to be true. Instead of doing oversabi and trying to prove them wrong, I simply told them how shocked I was, made myself humble and asked them to tell me their experience so I can learn. Best advice I ever got... and they're white people, people who had nothing in it for them. Barring any unfortunate events, I'm projected to get my U.S. citizenship in 2021. That's 5 years for me too. I know people who predicted harsh events for me because I didn't come here on funding to study a STEM course. Without sounding condescending, I can tell you my gamble paid off. The program I came here to study in my school was ranked number 6 in the whole world. Generally, the school is not even in the top 100 schools in the U.S. but the department was so highly ranked that it was almost impossible to graduate and not get a job. Super-strong alumni too. When they were hammering me for not going to top school/getting funding, I stayed on track and focused on my life. Telling me "You can't do X" is the only motivation I need sometimes to go the extra mile. You and that guy just gave me the motivational "it's impossible" speech lol. When I start studying to pass my test for Naturalization, all I need to do is remember the people who say it's impossible lol. Please be humble. When someone tells you "I did x and got y", simply ask them to show you how without being disrespectful. I surround myself with positive people, and I am very grateful that God sent them my way. May God be with you o, doubting Thomas. 47 Likes |

Hello guys, please I'll like you all to review my proposed transcript as my interview will be coming up in 3 day. I posted it sometime ago but no one responded... Thanks Why US: I chose The USA because it is a country that is well recognized for its academic excellence and enhanced learning experience, also they have one of the best educational system in the world that offers students flexible educational opportunities across over 4000 institutions. The US remains the source of most of the world’s ground-breaking developments in technology, business, arts, and beyond. What av u bn doin after school: I worked as an Informatin Officer in a Government parastata, Edo State House of Assembly, Benin City during my service year. I was retained to a staff even after Service year ended. I attend all parliamentary sittings, write news and all other duties as assigned. How many sch : 3 schools; University of Georgia, Atlanta (Franklin College of Art & Science) The City University of NewYork and East Tennessee State University. VO* How did you hear about the School? Tell me about your school me: this school is a public institution located in Johnson City. That was founded in 1911, with campuses in Johnson City as the main campus and Kingsport Campus.,Listed by The Princeton Review as one of America’s Best Value Colleges ,student-faculty ratio17:1. 11 colleges and 53 Dept. Why did u choose ETSU: I chose Etsu because it will give me the privilege to take courses from my foundational background, which means I'll be taking more courses from English language and Communication studies. Also, their Daylong writing workshop will help improve my writing and analytical thinking skills and give me the exposure that will be of advantage in my chosen career of taking an academic position in a university here in Nigeria. Moreover, I was awarded a graduate assistant position in the department and finally,I have been conversing with the director of the department, Dr. Marie Tedesco, and she's willing to allow me work with her in the department. Resumption Date: 21st of August. It gives students the privilege to think critically and contextually about their discipline and various issues. It is a 31- Unit Coursework. I would be taking my core courses in Liberal Studies and my Electives from English Language, Regional and Community Studies, Communication Studies and Sociology. Seminar and Thesis would as well sum up in the coursework. What is your study plan: I’ll be studying Liberal Studies at East Tennessee University. It requires me to take: 10 credits hours for Core courses 18 credits hours for electives and 3 credits hours for my thesis all which are expected to be completed within 24months. After which I’d return to Nigeria to get an academic position in one of the top universities in Nigeria especially my Almer Mata, EKSU Wah would ur course do for u: Me- It will earn me a well rounded education as it is designed to educate on a variety of disciplines, rather than training me on a specific job. Having had a bachelor's degree in English, it will prepare me for a career in journalism, editing, technical writing and academics as intend taking up an academic position in my Alma mater after graduation. Also, as an aspiring writer, liberal studies wiLil improve my writing, communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills as I intend venturing into blogging where I'll be concentrating on the female gender and their challenges in the Nigerian society. COURSES: foundations in Liberal Studies Seminar in Liberal Studies Introduction to Interdisciplinary Study Seminar in Interdisciplinary Research V.O- Why did you want to change your Course of Study from what you studied during undergraduate days. Me- I believe with Interdisciplinary course like Liberal Studies, I would have broad exploration of social and natural sciences couple with my initial knowledge of arts and humanities, with this I would be able to have all round knowledge to be in the academics. I also believe with Liberal Studies, I would learn communication effectively and understand as well as respect variety of cultures. I would also have variety of careers suit of my interests. VO@@ How did you know about Liberal Studies? Me- During my penultimate year (Level 300) as an undergraduate, A Professor of Liberal Studies named Prof. (Mrs.) Johnson came to our School for Sabbatical Study Leave. She narrated to us the benefits of studying Liberal Sciences. Her vast experiences, response to issues and way of life made me develop interest in Liberal Studies and she always advice us to follow her trend. She is my role model……… Who z sponsoring you: I have been offered a Graduate Assistantship which covers my tuition and most fees and provides a stipend per semester of $3700, while my Uncle Mr Raji Lookman will be covering the rest. Wah doz ur Uncle do: He is an educationist, he owns an elementary school as well. VO* How many Pupils are in your mother School? Me: 86 pupils VO++ Uncle's fund yearly... VO* Did you do any Entrance examinations? Me-Though no Entrance examination was required for my course of study, I still did GRE (Graduate Record Examination) to foster my commitment for further learning. V.O- What are your Scores. Me- I have 153 in Verbal, 157 in Quantitative and 3.0 in Analytical Writing. Do you Intend to work in the States? Do you intend to work in US Me- I have been given Graduate Assistant Job, this would make me work only in the department for 20hours per week. Aside that, I have no plans of working. V.O- During Vacation, What would you be doing? Me- for short vacations, I would rest and prepare for forthcoming Semesters, but for Long Vacations, I would come back home briefly to say hello to my family. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Please I am still awaiting your advice. @Lagosismyhome and other great minds here. I have been denied F1 visa twice at Lagos US Consulate on 13th and 21st July. I was first interviewed by the black American woman who didn't bother to peruse my i-20 form for the GA and stipends I was offered for my Msc program, she first asked how I heard of the school and as I was saying that I did an extensive search online, she immediately cut me off and proceeded to other questions like who will be paying for my studies, then i told her that school offered me a GA and my elder brother will be taking care of other expenses. She then asked if I was married and I said yes, she asked any children and my reply was None yet. She finally asked if I have traveled out before, I said No, I have not had reason to do so. She then said that refusal statement and gave the blue paper. I then immediately reapplied with a new ds-160 with no changes, and was able to book a week after the first appointment. I was interviewed by the young guy at window 3, it was a bit interactive at least he is a guy like me, he asked all the usual questions which I answered to my best. I was surprised when he said he wouldn't be able to approve my visa and that I can reapply. Now, I am confused whether to retry the third time at Abuja embassy as the school would be resuming on the 23rd August and I also intend to use my uncle as my sponsor in my new ds160, cos he has sufficient fund to show as SOA or should I wait for 2 months duration. At both interviews, I was not asked for my SOA which one would say disqualified my chances. Please candidly advice me as I am down with these disappointments and going financially drained with all the expenses. Thanks [/quote] |

Then if you feel you don't have a problem with that maybe you should work on your responses because i guess there's more to that which uve provided. |
