The guy just got himself in trouble. If you have a stable and established career in Nigeria, and you are well paid, think twice about coming to the US on visitors visa with intention to become an illegal. Most people are not well informed. He won't be able to work and earn income legally. I met a lady who first came on holiday and then decided to stay. She is sort of regretting it now because she is stuck with an under the table baby sitting job which she can only do with other Nigerians since they are the one that can employ her without work authorization.

And about the band member, he could have migrated to US legally if he is so good through special immigration class for artists or peoole with certain talents. He only need a lawyer to file that for him. And the fact that he play with an internationally recognized group would have been good for his profile.

He is probably raising up his hands around Quebec trying to cross into Canada, but his refugee claim would eventually be refused as background check would dig up that he is no genuine refugee claimant.

What he did is also not good for Femi in terms of his future application and dealings with the US embassy. A well known Zaire musician, Pampa Wemba was accused of human smuggling by France. I have a former high school mate who absconded in the US while playing with Shina Peters, in the late 90s. He is still in the US. So, it's a common occurence.

So, Femi needed to call him out and declare him missing officially to authorities. Though Femi has good reputation but things like this must not happen often or they would assume it's deliberate and that he's getting a cut from the fleeing band members.

True! And ull make money "legally" too if you're not lazy. I know people clocking 25 or 30 years there without papers, and doing fine. No scams or ish like that. Tho nobody can predict the future- the rate of Nigerian immigration into the US may soon FORCE some sort of counter-action that would affect even the well established. The only reason this trend has prevailed so far is because it actually pays the US government to have cheap labor with tax returns- it's a coded system of voluntary slavery, where the government would "act" as though they frown upon it yet nothing concrete would be done to halt the process. The weaker the slaves (Mexico, Africa etc) the stronger the masters (USA, Canada, UK). It's an established system.....why do you think the British empire ruined Nigeria by empowering the dumbest to rule it when they were forced to leave, The French also handed half-independence to their countries to maintain indirect control, it's all planned......but Africa is an especially foolish and helpless continent of natural slaves! Afro singer Femi Kuti and his sister Yeni have both called out one of their band members who absconded before a show in the United States of America.

The man identified as Aghedo Andrew was slated to perform with the band and every trace of him could not be located just at the point when he was utmost needed in the band.

Femi took to Twitter to narrate how bitter he was about the incident, but took time to praise other band members who held it down and ensured the show went smoothly.

He wrote:

My bassist Aghedo Andrew nearly ruined my concert yesterday in New York @SummerStage ,He disappeared 20mins before show time. I want to thank the rest of the band for standing strong and giving one of the best shows of the tour.

He has a good job. Paid quite well. Has enough money to resign properly and with all visas in his passport he can travel anywhere in the world. So that’s not an excuse.

He was then told by a follower not to worry about him as he will surely be fished out by ICE and Femi Kuti replied

I'm not worried. Still have dedicated musicians that are committed to holding the integrity of the music.

Not long after then, his sister Yeni Kuti also took to her Instagram page to call out the guy and even tagged President Donald Trump to notify him of the guy's action and hope that he is deported back to Nigeria and then disgraced.

She wrote:

Do you know what it means to be abandoned by a band member before a show? Do you know what he did could have ruined Femi's career? What stopped him from finishing the show before absconding?
