Hi all,
Please any idea where I can get a very big cage for my parrot? Something like a 3bedroom appartment. The present cage seem small as the parrot has grown bigger

This just brought back sweet memories.Make sure to shield the cage from direct sunlight and cold. How do they get along? Don't they fight each other? Nice birds by the way

All those birds in one cage? isn't it dangerous for the Senegal?

if there is any threat in that cage from what I have observed it's the older senegalese. I noticed he occasionally beaks the African grey when she gets too close.

Wow lovely. Pls how did you get your bird to trust you. I am always met with screams and bites whenever I try to touch my bird. Coming close to the cage alone sets her off like an antitheft alarm

I see that your bird's wings aren't clipped. How do you manage to allow it out of its cage? Aren't you scared of it flying off?

Lol...hope we would not see another post with "parrot for sale" because its becoming common practice for folks to jump into buying birds without considering the pros and cons of owning parrots. Anyway I wish you the best with your new pet.

Point of correction... I intend to sell my Parrots because I will be out of the Country for a while from September and I can't reasonably put them in the care of my Parents or Neighbours. Am sure we don't have pets hotel in Nigeria yet. The best bet is to either sell them or release them to fly away freely.

I'm not new to keeping birds and pets in general. At least some 10 years of being a pet owner should count for some little experience. Thanks for the wishes tho. I hope we are going to spend the next 40 years together

Do all these Parrots talk?
Can't have a Parrot that don't recite stuffs, I mean, what's the point?

Lovely bird, but sorry to disappoint you, Senegalese parrot don't talk..If you want a parrot with potential to talk, get a young African grey and train it..

Your best bet is an african grey parrot.

They are most likely to talk, but you must have a good relationship with them.

You have to learn positive reinforcement and talk a lot with it.

Use short phrases often until they imitate you.

Thanks for this sir but after much research I learnt they can say few words, mimics, murmurs I think am OK with that. Nonetheless I will still go for the Africa grey.

Oh ok, didn't know that, we learn everyday I guess.. make sure you get a young bird; older wild ones are very very noisy and temperamental..
