Prior to 2015, a grand conspiracy to oust President Jonathan was conceptualized by certain individuals from certain geopolitical zones in the country. These elements met, plotted, and joined forces which brought to life the APC. The grand plan worked!

Now, some months to the 2019 elections, certain people have also met, discussed, come to an understanding, decamped, changed election time table and all of these is to make sure President Buhari is ousted from office in 2019. The question is will this grand plan work, this time around?

Meaning anything that will not go APC way must be dealt with in anyway lawless. No wonder blood is thicker than water.
Meanwhile why can the NASS or president allow the statuo quo to remain

You don't amend the electoral act for selfish reasons. Buhari will leave one day, then what happens? We change it again?

Moreover, the electoral act was enacted by a pdp govt. Now they feel it doesn't serves them again. They just wanna change it?

I am really finding it difficult to comprehend the point you are trying to make and the question you are trying to ask.

Are you saying it is lawless for the president to veto a bill? Wetin concern blood for this matter now? grin grin grin
The president is not against maintaining the status quo. Some disgruntled members of the national assembly are the ones trying to change the status quo by attempting to introduce an election sequence that will favour the PDP into the electoral act.

How does election sequence work against a good, competent and popular candidate? Buhari is afraid his failure is poised to catch up with him.

I wonder this jubilation is about....the technicality of this matter does not even call for jubilation as it stands. what if malami heads to the suppreme court which is obviously the next move..by so doing, he will buy time....plus the house wont converge until later september leaving us just 5months to the elections and the constitution says you can alter electoral laws six(6) months to the election so dunces out there...why rejoice as this particular case cant help your course

You don't know these people. I once attended an higher institution in their place. Their gra gra & empty noise making & chest beating often becloud their sense of reasoning. They cannot see technicality involved in this case. Why jubilating for nothing? Even, if Saraki reconvenes the house he cannot meet up the 6 months required for electoral laws before election. Already, most of them lost in primary & only defected to other party. The General will not sign the bill & both chambers cannot get 2/3rd majority to veto it. Hypertension is coming in 2019.

The decision makes no difference as the election ordering sequence as proposed by PDP and Saraki will never become law. Even if it is re-introduced and passed by the National assembly, Buhari will still veto it and Saraki cannot get the required 73 senate votes to override his veto. Sorry to burst your bubble PDP wailers, this changes absolutely nothing.
A lot of people on social media are too ignorant of how things work. They only know how to shout with their keyboards.

The good thing is the Bill is of no use again cos by the time the assembly will reconvene, Saraki won't be the assembly president anymore, so no need to panick

What was the rationale of the Presidency, fixing dates for its re-election, without welcoming any negotiations and interference from the Legislatures.

Is their antics also related to Buhari's relatives being the members of INEC ?

The Non-Corruptible Buhari, might not be as Holy as he wants us to understand then.

Election sequence has nothing to do with the president, it is the Senate, House of Reps &,Governorship that are affected. The presidential election have chain reactions

I don't think You don't understand how democracy works in a presidential system of government..

Buhari sworn an oath to uphold the constitution of F. R Of Nigeria, and if any law/bill by amendment, introduction or otherwise negates this oath, he is constitutionally bound to reject such bills/law, which he did.

However, you don't expect the President to reject a bill without stating the reason(s) for doing so. So it is left for the NASS overide him, if they can or kill the bill, which they decided to do..

How is this executive rascality? Or you just learned the word?
Wrong. Bills can be introduced anytime. It is debated on merit and necessity. Especially an imperfect military remnant constitution that we have.
Presidential systems all have local flavours. From France to the US.

So your point is simply ridiculous.

I personally do not think electoral sequence is our wahala or priority right now. But the way APC and FG oppose it is in bad faith.

I am not sure you read it well they still need the President's assent for it to become law, without his signature they will need two third of both Houses of Assembly. Thief senate let the presidential elections come 1st in sequence it will be in favor of the the President, all their plans will fail.

I thought Adeyanju and PDP members are intelligent. This process will die in court and end up as academic exercise. If actually court of appeal nullifies the FHC judgement, i am sure attorney general will head to supreme court and file for stay of execution and the law says electoral act can not be amended 6months to election. The NASS will resume by September meaning 5months to election case closed.

Anyone that thinks this NASS will have their way on this is going on wishful thinking, they can't even muster 2/3 to carry out the amendment now that the battle line has be drawn with 50 senators paying loyalty to APC.
Is like u didn't hear? More defectors to follow before September.... I laugh at you.

Drop the mic say no more, everything that needs to be said you have touched on, the President has the final say this is another issue of much ado about nothing.

Saraki and pdp are having a field day purporting to fool the vulnerable public but the great Bob Marley said "You can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all the people all the time".
Re: Court Of Appeal Allows National Assembly To Re-order 2019 Election Sequence by la1(m): 6:32pm On Aug 01, 2018
many people here have an obvious reading and comprehension problem...The appeal court; in simple terms has stated that the judiciary cannot interfere since the bill to amend the order of elections has not yet become and act..

two things are pertinent .

1. The proponents of this bill (Nass) already killed the bill after Mr president made it clear he would withhold assent.

2. Even if the Nass was to reconvene just for the purpose of debating and passing this bill,. the electoral act as it stands has bound their wrists as no amendments to the electoral act can be done six months before the elections, besides the president could sit on the bill for up to 90 days before it returns to Nass for a veto.

an academic exercise for many, ...and exercise in futility for the protagonists
