Inasmuch as I do criticise Mourinho steadily, and still think publicly revealing about Martial's petulance in this child saga is not a wise decision, I think Martial didn't handle the issue soundly as well. If this was the World Cup, would Martial have left the camp since and refused to come back and help the team?

Being at his wife's side for the birth of his child was the right thing to do, but he'd have returned for the Madrid match. Fabian Delph left England camp to be present for his child's birth, but he returned afterwards to help his team-mates in the next match. The child is not running away. Martial no try. Mourinho handled it wrong with the public exposure too. It's a pre-season fixture, not a competitive fixture, somethings are meant to be sorted out internally. Mourinho talks too much.
