New Jos Stadium is 44,000 capacity and it was just opened last year or thereabout.

Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium is also a new stadium and it is 38,000 in capacity. It was opened recently.

Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Kastina capacity is 35,000 and it was just opened a year before Akapio's stadium. That's in 2013.

Jalingo city stadium is also a beautiful stadium and it is 30,000 capacity.

No excuse
Quota system will not make it work that way

Highly rated Manchester United 20 year old midfielder Tosin Kehinde has put to rest speculation about his future by penning a four year deal with Portuguese side CD Feirense, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Kehinde passed a routine medical with the club few minutes ago and he will be officially unveiled in the afternoon by the Portuguese side, who are hoping he will fill the void created by the departure of Oghenekaro Etebo to Stoke City.

He joins on a free transfer but Man United are due some form of compensation from the Portuguese side, who are going to officially unveil the midfielder who can also play as a winger this later by noon.

His move brings to an end talks about a move to Norwegian side SK Brann, who were the early front runners for his signature despite interest from Portuguese side Rio Ave.

Eligible to represent England or Nigeria, he has committed his international future to the senior national team of Nigeria and even met with coach Gernot Rohr during the preparations for the World Cup.

D

I am perplexed after all the hype about his quality he is being courted by Norwegian and a far from too club in the Portuguese league.

Don't know if has played any games for United and or has been outstanding in the U23.

However, he didn't drop to Championship or even league 1. I wouldn't call that progression coming from Manchester United.

It seems he was released by United.

Umar has played for Roma and Bologna as well.

He won a bronze medal in the Olympics as Nigeria's top scorer.

His chances in Roma's first team has been limited by top class players.

He was much better in the Eredivise than Solanke when he played there.

Maybe so maybe not open to debate.

But currently and presently Solanke is wanted by a plethora of clubs in both the championship and EPL and still an England international albeit on the fringe.

Who wants Umar Or is everyone blind to his outstanding attributes.

I still feel we should give Simeon Nwankwo a couple of games.

Me too, I don't necessarily rate him but he was NEVER given a fair chance.

If someone is called he should be given opportunity not just making up the numbers in training and discarded.

That's not fair.

Kehinde refused to sign a new contract with Man Utd instead of playing another season with the under 23.

His condition for remaining in United was to be given more opportunities with the first team.

His decision was to give himself a chance to probably get to the top of the game instead of wasting in the youth ranks. He is young and can get there. If he distinguishes himself, he will definitely move to bigger teams and give himself a chance.

Chuks Aneke was a great player in the Arsenal youth ranks. He is in league 1. How many good youth players end up in league 1 and below, never coming up?

He has made a good decision. If he proves himself, he will find himself in one of the top leagues.

Yeah, he showed some flashes of Brilliance against DRC on his debut. But not really given much chance ever since.

I don't really rate him that high but he looks like someone who can wreck havoc on his good day.
I am also worried about the younger strikers coming up. They are all average.

Nigerian aint fit to host any major tourney. They should take it to Morocco, they did well with the CHAN, otherwise, take it to Eastern Africa for either of Ethioppia or Kenya. But if it must go South, give it to Rwanda or Angola

Lol Kenya? the same Kenya that couldn't build new stadiums for CHAN?
I doubt if Ethiopia has any stadium with a capacity of more than 40k..
Angola hosted it in 2010 so maybe they can do it again.
But the increment of the teams to 24 is the major issue.. If Nigeria can get it right in the area of infrastructure and security, I see us hosting it sooner... We have the money for that..

But what worries me most about this new afcon format is the date.. moving it to June- July when rainfall is at its peak in most African countries could turn out to b a bad decision...

Should CAF strip the AFCON hosting right from Cameroon and hand it to Morocco, I won't be wrong to assume that Morocco are likely to win the trophy next year...
Their team under Herve Renard is really good...
It will b a very exciting afcon 2019 if Nigeria qualifies...
Imagine the current squads of Nigeria, Senegal Egypt, Morocco and ivory coast

I understand. But we are the giants of Africa abeg. I just feel that we gotta step up our game and produce something of quality for continental football competition. We cannot continue to tolerate mediocrity.

On another note, would Jos be safe enough for AFCON? Do you think our counterparts would object to such a venue.

Safety is another topic.

If 6 stadiums are all what it is required to host Afcon, then we already have good ones.

1. Abuja Stadium - 60,000 capacity

2. Godwin Akpabio stadium - 30,000 capacity

3, Adokia Stadium - 38,000 capacity

4. Obafemi Awolowo stadium - 35,000 capacity

5. Sani Abacha stadium - 16,000 capacity

6. Asaba stadium - 22,000 capacity

Super Eagles of Nigeria Russia World Cup 2018 ‎star Ahmed Musa has left the camp of Leicester City in Austria to seal a big money move to Saudi Arabia side Al Nassr according to his representative.

Musa left the camp of Leicester City for Saudi Arabia after a fee in the region of £14.8m was accepted by Leicester for his transfer with several add ons which will see the deal rise to as high as £25m.

” He will arrive Saudi Arabia tomorrow morning. A fee was agreed yesterday but he had to tidy some of his belongings before heading out to Saudi Arabia. The deal is too good to turn down”, his representative told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.

” Al Nassr are getting him at his prime. He has regained his confidence at the World Cup with Nigeria and towards the end of last season he was one of the key men for CSKA Moscow during his loan spell”, he concluded.

Already he has demanded for the number 7 jersey at the club and the deal will reportedly make him the highest paid Nigerian football player by the time it becomes official tomorrow morning.

These guys play football for money after all. I reckon the reason why players want to play for top clubs is because they usually have the highest wage bill, they pay the big BUCKS basically.
These days you can get that big pay check playing inythe gulf region, China or America, so why not?!

Nowadays, it is very hard to find a player who'd take a paycut to play for a big team just for the sake of it.
It only happens if the player is returning to his hometown club where he has a future beyond his playing career.
