Every application undergo the same background check. The delay in getting response for online route should be from the Visa officers handling the application. Therefore, the blame should be on the London Visa officers and not the routes. We find out that Nairobi visa officers are dedicated to their work and very fast in giving out reponse as soon as they recieve an application, but reverse is the case for London visa officers.

You just have to be hopeful. It shall end in praises.

@Frankrobbn1,

Thanks for your response. So you are suggesting that most likely, my application is probably being processed by a London visa officer?

Yes Ma'am! There are high tendency that your application is being processed by the London visa officer. Recently, that's where most online applications are treated.

What if a denial states "personal asset and financial status"? And you submitted only your sponsors acct statement.

“Personal asset and financial status,” usually means not only your personal asset, but any that you stand to inherit. Not many students can boast of personal assets, so that is usually inferred from parental property or family wealth. If you submitted only your personal SOA, that is fine as long as the totality of the record you enclosed shows you as financially buoyant, perhaps your family has property that you stand to inherit and you enclosed it. All of these assets and financial belonging is used by a VO to deduce ties of your return to your country. If you don’t have such financial ties, any strong family or social or professional ties like a good job (200k a month I find to be what is considered good) that you would return to would suffice. In fact, sometimes you may lack all of these and still be able to convince the VO in other subtle ways. Like a person who is given a scholarship and has no personal money or family wealth or not married with strong family ties. The brute fact of been promising can lead to the belief that he/she is the most likely to come back to his fatherland and help develop it and make it a better place.

I think it depends on the volume of applications the visa office receives. Most people are now embracing online application which reduces the volume of paper applications that go to Nairobi. My wife who went to the VFS for biometrics confirmed that her friend who went for paper submission left there three hours before her because online applicants were far more than those who came for paper submission. Imagine the substantial number of those online applications go to London visa office and the few paper applications go to Nairobi, who will get response faster?

Your dad and your uncle are right. VFS Abuja gives little assistance, incase of errors in your IMM forms; and as well you will be able to do biometrics and submit passport same day. Just try to be there on time.

Thank you bro.

Abuja or Lagos does not determine where your application will be processed, don't waste your money going to Abuja.

I could have gone to Lagos, but issue is the sponsorship letter written by my uncle was addressed to the Abuja office. Don't think it will make sense going to Lagos with that, will it?

Hello:

In terms of having someone in assisting, arranging and making sure your documents are properly filled... Paper route will be your best bet here.

Going through paper route, you will complete your biometrics same day, submit your passport with your application and pay for your visa application fee of #56,050 at the counter in the VFS office.

Filling the forms before heading to the VFS Office will be cheaper because you will be charged like 7K to get your forms filled by some bussiness centers (Cyber Cafe) outside the VFS office premises. (Putting into consideration that you're a novice, you might decide to pay them to help fill your form, so as to avoid mistakes).

Use this medium to access the forms needed for your application and follow the instructions provided:
DOWNLOAD STUDY VISA APPLICATION FORMS

Furthermore, there are no best route to use (be it online or paper) in as much as people get refused and approved in both routes.

All the best!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this.

Doesn’t matter which of the High Commission the letter is addressed to, the content of the letter is what matters and shall be deciphered. Yes you can apply in Lagos even if Letter is addressed to the High Commission in Abuja or even Afghanistan.

Correct!! Some online applications I have also seen treated in Turkey. I would rather my application go to London than Kenya. Kenya people have established themselves now as draconian. So many denials coming out of Kenya in comparison to London.

I have another question guys, one of my sponsor is my uncle who is a Canadian citizen together with my dad. My dad and I paid fist tuition fees, I have his account statements, but my uncle didn't give me his. He explained he no funds in present balance. His sponsorship letter states he will pay for accommodations, feeding, transport and second semester tuition. But supporting documents from his was his citizenship certificate, certificate of employment by the Nunavut government (cause that's where he works) stating annual income and allowances. He says that's all I need, but I am not very comfortable based on what I have seen here. Is this ok?

Secondly, I just realised that my program, college graduate certificate in project management is equivalent to a pgd. I have a bsc in banking and finance and MBA. Please forgive my ignorance, my uncle did the application for me as he has been in Canada since 2001, he felt project management is best but I didn't know it will make me step down to pgd as it's not a course I did in first degree. I have seen post that it's always better to go for masters or phd, but this where I am now. I tried to explain the career change in my SOP, it wouldn't hurt if one our humble gurus offer to read mine, I'd be mighty grateful.

I apologise for the long post, but this is my First time, just trying to be sure I do the right thing on my part before applying.

One more thing, is it necessary to get a notary to validate documents for paper route application?

But I guess one can be called to do biometrics in either Abuja or Lagos if one applies online.

You can do biometrics anywhere, you called not to any specific address, but told to go to any Canadian or VFS or USCIS post. It’s your decision where you want to go Lagos or Abuja.

Hello Please I have a question.
I applied via paper route on July 28th. I’m trying to link my application online but it’s saying no records found. I’ve used the account to link a previous application before, could that be the cause? Do I have to create a new account and link it? Or is it that the application hasn’t gotten to cic yet?

applied at the beginning of May but i did not get any response not even biometrics till ending of May, but i was asked to bring another recent statement of account which eventually happened at the beginning of June so after like a week or so i got my biometrics request which i did on the 14th of June but till now I've not gotten request for medicals or anything and time is going, What could be the problem?? just a bit worried. Or maybe it could 'be that they are dealing with a lot of applications . And for those already in Canada, which is better on campus or off campus??
I got admission into University of New Brunswick St John, MBA, fall 2018.

I don't know if New Brunswick is a good school, but you wouldn't get a good MBA program without a good gmat score

In the aspect of comparison between Kenya and London. I would better go for a route that is fast in giving out reponse, so that if eventually my application gets refused, I can quickly pick up my file, re-strategies and reapply rather than going for a route that will take the whole time on earth (9weeks-15weeks) to process my visa and at the end it turns out unsuccessful which could be very traumatizing and frustrating.

As always said by me, no route is best!!

Carlz1,

You don't have to create a new account, you can make use of your previous account as long as you can remember your username, password and security questions. Your application has been received by CIC long ago, you can track it online.

There is certain stage where you are asked to select either Passport or birth information, choose birth information. Also, make sure u select "Study Permit" and not "Temporary Resident Visa". Again, be sure filled your enrollment date and end date of your program as exact as it is on your IMM1294E form.

All the best!

For me i think your uncle will complicate your application since there is no bank statement from him, the V.O considers the present more than the future. and your program will be seen as arrangement between you and your uncle to elope.

This is an irony of the whole matter. Sure! I know of an applicant who sent CSE to London office in respect to his online application but to his greatest surprise it was Lagos immigration office that replied his query. But, that doesn't implies that it's lagos that is processing the applicant application. The Lagos visa office is more like a middle man here that replies to prospective applicants queries.

I'm anxiously waiting to see which of the two visa offices that will issue the Visa counterfoil at last.

I was away for two months so not sure if they stopped processing online from Turkey or Dubai. I personally won’t be bothered for time. And who says you cannot restrategize if denied from London? I would rather go to a route that has established itself more fair. For example, a woman I helped from this forum who filed paperoute was denied by the Kenya people. She immediately refired online with same documents, but more polished SOP. London acted and delivered. She is on her way for her studies August 15. On the average London delivers than Kenya people. I would rather trust my life with the London people. Just me, different strokes for different folks I guess.
