Central Bank of Nigeria

Would CBN ever list its shares on the NSE?

NB: In case some of you here are not aware, the shares of Swiss National Bank, Bank of Japan, National Bank of Belgium, Reserve Bank of South Africa and Bank of Greece are publicly traded.

Hello all. I have an account with a stockbroking firm known as Solid Rock Securities and Investment Limited, with some stocks which I bought about 10 years ago. I have not been an active participant since then but would love to return to investing in stocks this month. Do you think I should continue investing through this company or move to another one? Looking forward to your responses. Thank you.

On which exchange is the Reserve Bank of South Africa quoted and 'publicly traded'?

My personal opinion is you open an account with a stockbroker who has an online trading platform so you can place your buy or sell orders yourself from your computer or smart device. There are several of them available now e.g

Morgan Capital
Lead Capital
ARM Securities
Meristem
Investment One
CSL
Greenwich
Etc

They allowed account opening online so you don't even have to visit their office.

All the best

Although the Reserve Bank is privately owned, its shares are publicly traded. No shareholder is allowed to own its shares in excess of 10,000units. Please click the link below to see where its shares are quoted and traded.

hmmm...
if they are still functional, get to know if they have a live trading app.

if not: get them to sell all your shares aand move to a new mordern broker withlive trading app like Morgan, Meristem, etc.

DO NOT TRY TO MOVE SHARES FROM ONE BROKER TO ANOTHER..(except they cant sell for you).... it takes months!

Thanks a great deal. I hope it is going to be a smooth process since I already have a CSCS account or will it be an entirely new registration/account opening process if I decided to choose any of these firms and "dump" the current one.

Thanks for your valuable advise. I doubt if they have a live trading app, I will go to their office on Monday to get them to sell all the shares I bought through them so I can join a modern broker as you suggested. I appreciate your time!

Don't panic and sell off your shares...how much lower can it go. Did you see the volume traded? somebody is buying. Would obviously stay above N1.00 (My accumulation range N1.09-N1.30)

Good luck grin

Somebody buying. Does that not also mean that someone is selling?

But they've been making losses now. So how would they pay us dividends?

It's a smooth process don't worry. Whichever firm you choose just fill out their form online, upload your kyc documents and you are good to go.

Since you already have a cscs account just provide them with your CHN.
