sanpipita: Don't be biased. Igbos cook well but when it comes to jollof rice or stew give it to the yorubas. Agreed yorubas do not have many soups like igbos. Most igbos cook jollof rice with crayfish which is very wrong. It spoils everything. 2 Likes |

Cooking jollof rice is an individual thing to me, some families may cook it well while some may not. Me personally cook it real good. But generally, from what I have seen Igbos cook better than yorubas |

OLAFIMIX:Tasty spicied jollof rice isn't peculiar to Yoruba. Try visiting other part of the country to see things for yourself. Our taste bud is affected by the kind of meal we grew up with. This phenomenon makes us to compare what we grew up with with other meals cooked outside our domain. A Yoruba lady can cook Afang soup very well if she learns the basics same with the spicied jollof rice for an Igbo lady 1 Like |

Well, every tribe cooks her indigenous food better than any other tribe would. Every tribe has what they like most in their foods. The Yorubas like more pepper and oil in their food which the Igbos don't while the Igbos prefer their swallow to be much harder than the Yorubas like. That doesn't mean one cook better than the other, it's just preference. The Igbos and Ibibio/Efik have more varieties of soup they cook while the Yorubas have slightly more varieties of swallow they eat 1 Like |
