Please me I don't know o, I dey ask.

Is it only in Nigeria that such badly capitalized and managed companies are allowed to continue running? While they use credit as a lifeblood and suck in gullible and uneducated investors for more and more prestige and capital.

The show continues...........till the music stops.

We know how the story goes from here on.

Oceanic, Intercontinental, Japaul, Oando, Skye Bank, Jimoh Ibrahim(ALL his companies) and Union DICON Salt come to mind.

P.S @Yayira and other Ghanaian NSEMPAs
I don't know how active you are on GSE, but Energy Bank is an avoid o!!

Tell ya people make dem know.

If you doubt, Nigerian NSEMPAs can combine with Google and confirm this for una.

Like I said, Google about the chairman's (Jimoh Ibrahim) history.

Ask NSEMPA members whose opinions you trust smiley

Agbalowomeri:

September price - 80kobo

December price - 50kobo

You may have to wait and see what their result will be by Q3. If Uzoma is able to "double" his effort, he might replicate FY '17 losses by Q3 18 and considering disclosures that will be made after audit (FY), they might join the league of those nationalised banks!

Just thinking out loud though. I don't have any portfolio.

The Hugh credit they take from banks to run those businesses as a lifeblood like you said, in most cases are usually in cohort with those bank management, who will then write off those huge loans as bad debts.
Have you ever wondered why some banks will still grant heavy loans to businesses in shambles with obvious bad management issues? And our institutions that are suppose to checkmate or rather prevent such happenings just watch, or better still look away?
Yeah, your guess is as good as mine!

The Oga, that @DaV8King referenced and bolded in his post up there, operates a Jegede management style.

Although the Reserve Bank is privately owned, its shares are publicly traded. No shareholder is allowed to own its shares in excess of 10,000units. Please click the link below to see where its shares are quoted and traded.

After allowing for certain provisions, payment of company tax on profits, transfers to reserves and dividend payments of not more than 10 cents per share to shareholders, the surplus of the Bank's earnings is paid to the Government. The Bank's operations are therefore not driven by a profit motive, but by serving the best interests of all the people in South Africa.

The Bank was delisted from the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa on 2 May 2002

Thanks for your valuable advise. I doubt if they have a live trading app, I will go to their office on Monday to get them to sell all the shares I bought through them so I can join a modern broker as you suggested. I appreciate your time!

Thanks a great deal. I hope it is going to be a smooth process since I already have a CSCS account or will it be an entirely new registration/account opening process if I decided to choose any of these firms and "dump" the current one.
Also, please sell everything.

do not use that same CSCS number for your new broker..(it takes extra long time and process)

just start a fresh and fund your new account.

it took me 3 months just to change address on my old CSCS account then another 2 months to merge it to my new CSCS acct!

THE ONLY SEEMLESS PROCESS IS A FRESH ACCOUNT with a new mordern broker.

hmmm...
if they are still functional, get to know if they have a live trading app.

if not: get them to sell all your shares aand move to a new mordern broker withlive trading app like Morgan, Meristem, etc.

DO NOT TRY TO MOVE SHARES FROM ONE BROKER TO ANOTHER..(except they cant sell for you).... it takes months!

I am currently trying to move shares. I discovered the major part of the problem is the communication gap between the two brokers. So i serve as the middle man asking for updates and new information. That has helped because in Nigeria, you can't just submit a request and go to sleep.

I prefer to sell those shares myself. I cant give any broker any cut when i can do it myself.

great!

thats is when you are in Lagos.

when you are in the south south and can only email or call or send raw files via fedex... You must WAIT.

Imagine my demat form i sent to Lag with Fedex (#3k+) ..the Registrar says my broker should send the form back and have me counter sign it again.

after 4 months of waiting...
i just left the matter hanging..whenever i happen to be in lagos..they will not like my face AT ALL.

GOOD LUCK
