There is no problem there na, provided d statement is not fake.
the only problem u may think u have is that ur resumption is close. but again that is not a problem.
just write to graduate school, they will give u a letter, saying yes ,u are still welcomed, u print, use it at POE.
or if u don't like rush rush things and stress,u defer it till spring
not fake I personally went to the bank to collect. I was in the bank when it was printed out. Thanks

My visa transcript
VISA DENIED AT LAGOS ON 3/08/2018

My appointment was fixed to be 7:00am. As he reached my turn I gathered confidence.

Me: Good mrng
Vo: Good mrng, pass me ur passport & i-20

Vo: what course
Me: Computer science

Vo: why this course
Me: (Na so I start my talk ooo) In our current world, it almost impossible to imagine that someone can live without computer as computers are now part of our everyday life. I also discovered that Nigeria is now shifting her focus gradually from oil to technology so this means excellent job prospect for me upon graduation.
I believe with a degree in computer science, I will be better equipped with various skills I need to express my creativity as my strength & motivation lies in the field of networking & programming. Through my work I ll make a positive change in Nigeria's IT sector (He took time to allow me talk but he wasn't looking my direction, he was facing the computer & was typing)

Vo: Why this school?
Me: The computer science program at SMSU is structured in a way that it aligns with my career goal as I will opportuned to learn multiple programming language & different software package.
The school offer more than just classroom teaching, the school also offer me an opportunity to learn with current technology through the Schwann's IT research center which has a networked raspberry pi device running on Ubuntu Linux operating system and they have several micro computer laboratories running on windows & Macintosh operating system.
SMSU has one of the best student to faculty ratio which will aid interaction with my professors & pears. This means I ll have the opportunity of getting good one on one mentoring with my instructors. So it's good choice for me. (He didn't look my direction, he only nod his head as if he heard me)

Vo: Have u travelled outside your country?
Me: I have gotten any reason to travel outside Nigeria until now

Vo: what are your plans after graduation

Me: As soon as i graduate, I will return to Nigeria and put my newly learnt skills into practice by taking up a job as a software engineer in one of Nigeria's telecommunication companies

Vo: Are you married, do u have kid
Me: Answered No for the both

Vo: Who will be sponsoring your education?
Me: My dad

Vo: what does he do?
Me: He is a civil engineer & he has a construction company

Typed for some minutes & later brought out the blue paper & said you are not qualified at this time reasons are stated in the in the paper.

I want to reapply, pls my ogas in the house, what do I need to correct in my answers so I won't be denied this second time. Pls m opened to critism & correction.... smiley smiley

So sorry about your being denied a visa.

I've always felt that saying things like "I will come home and work in one of Nigeria's........" is not an effective method to prove home ties to a VO. Think of it, you're not sure of getting the telecommunications job, you're only HOPING to get it. Thus, the VO is not convinced you'll come home to a job that you're only hoping to get.

Take for instance, you were studying Engineering with plans of coming home to work in your father's Construction company he would have gladly issued your visa.

Just work on that after-grad plans man!

Hi all,
i have a couple of questions and would really appreciate feedbacks from anyone that is properly enlightened on the subject.

1. I'm working towards the Fall 2019 cycle and would love to rub minds with anyone that has insights into top business schools admission (Sloan, Austin, Fuqua, etc.)

2. What's the most legit way that I can convert my GPA to a 4.0 scale for free. I have been seeing a lot of guestimates here and there... Would it be ideal to just do (4.75/5.00 * 4.00 = 3.8 for example) or is there a more standard way of getting the estimate?. Though some of the schools i've been parsing don't really require me to submit a converted transcript, I just want to have it with me for record purposes.

3. A couple of people have been telling me about Education USA. Is there any member in here that can enlighten me on the perks of being a part of the program and how i can join?

Thanks...

I attended Sloan. I didn't need to convert transcript for admission purposes but my domestic university had a conversion guide at the back of every page of the transcript. You can try WES but there is a cost to it.

There are specific health centres for this purpose. If you are in Lagos and on the Island, go to CMS, there's a local govt office there beside that big bookshop. I was charged 3k for it.

Good morning guys!
Been a silent follower
Opened this NL account to post my transcript in appreciation and to ask some questions

Visa approved today 6:30am, 06/08/2018
Transcript
Vo: Good morning
Me: Morning Sir
Co: How was your night
Me: Fine and yours (with a forced smile)
VO: pass me your i20 and passport
Me: #passes it#
Co: why are you going to the US
Me: I am going to the University of Illinois at Springfield for a a Masters in Public health
VO: Oh, you are a doctor
Me: Yes I am
VO: When did you graduate
Me: I graduated in 2015
VO: Oh so you are a specialist
Me: No, I have just practiced 3 years, I am a GP
VO: so why Pub Health
Me: As a GP, I realized I am limited in the number of lives I can affect, however, PH affords me the opportunity to affect thousands of lives with simple policies and solutions.
Also, our PH indices in Nigeria is very poor for example, Nigeria is the 4tg worst country for a woman to have a child and so there is a huge dearth of PH professionals and so I wish to play my part in improving the indices here ib Nigeria and particularly in xxxLG where I work.
In addition, the world is moving towards Preventive medicine than curative, as a matter of fact, preventive medicine is cheaper than curative medicine and so PH puts me at the forefront of preventive medicine in Nigeria
*VO cuts in*
VO: Why UIS
Me: UIS affords me the opportunity to learn PH with an African experience. Every year since 2011, the Dept of PH of UIS has conducted yearly research to various African countries where they seek to study major PH problems and proffer solutions. So studying at UIS offers me the double advantage of learning best practices in PH and watching its application in an African setting.
VO: Which other sch did you apply to
Me: Ohio State University
VO: What volunteer work did you do with Amnesty International (I put it in my app)
Me: vigorous social media campaign for the release of several political prisoners
VO: So if I give you this Visa, who will continue seeing patients at your work place
Me: Oh I am nor the only doctor there, the others would continue th good work.
VO: Who will be sponsoring you
Me: my Employees
VO: *with a shocked expression* employees
Me: yes, those I work with
VO: Oh your employers
Me: *chai* Yes my employers rather
VO: do u v a letter to back thus up
Me: Yes, *passed*
VO: #scrutinising* can I call them to confirm
Me: Oh yes, I could provide further contact details
VO: thier grant doesn't cover the whole tuition
Me: yes, I will augument with my income because I will be on paid leave, also, my uncle who sponsored my undergrad will also sponsor
VO: *thinking for like 3-4mins* I will be with you in a min *went in for another 3-4mins*
Vo: I will be granting you... .

Thanks so much everyone

Though I've not traveled yet but from my findings, you are most likely to leave the airport 2-4hrs after you arrive as an international traveler because of all the POE procedures, queues, document check, questions and all. Of course it could be less but meeting up with a connecting flight an hour later is not feasible.

no definitely not for JFK .........That a very big airport so the queue sometimes is a lot . there is no way one hour is enough . More like 3 to 4 hours , especially if you are passing immigration and then collecting luggage to connect. also factor in JJC who trying to figure out the airport and correct gate

Good morning beloved, pls I want to know if I can write GRE by October and apply for Fall 2019 as someone pointed out that admission for fall 2019 has started?

With a CGPA of 3.72/5 in Electrical Engineering, can I secure a full tuition waiver with good TOEFL result?

Any suggestion of schools I can look into??

Thanks

What a lot of people don't know is that that a school says their deadlines are on one particular date doesn't mean they don't still accept applications under special situations. If you feel you have a decent profile, you can reach out to the graduate coordinator in your desired department directly and find out what is possible. I've seen people successful at this and it's definitely worth giving a try. That being said, funding is different topic entirely.
