Hello everyone, I need an advice on an F1 visa issue and will really appreciate if I can get a way forward out of this. I know this house is full of gurus and highly blessed. Kindly help a sister in a jam. My story goes thus: Sometimes in 2016, my pregnant sister and her husband with their son applied for a US tourist visa and were granted. During the interview, the consular asked whether my sister will visit the doctor and she replied negative. My sister spent 5 months in the US and returned with the child. Their visa expired and the husband is the busy type and has no time for the renewal. Fast forward to this year, the husband was granted admission for a graduate study in the USA and was even offered a little scholarship by the school. The husband applied for F1 visa and was refused. During the interview, the consular stated that the husband travelled with his wife without their child to the USA two years ago and gave birth there after having misinformed the then consular that they will not visit the doctor. She asked where the wife is and the husband answered that she is at home with her business. She also asked how much was paid and the husband answered. The consular also asked for the receipt but the husband answered that when the wife is coming to renew her visa, she will bring it along. My sister's husband doesn't want to miss this scholarship so he wants to apply again before the school resumes this month. What can he do to be granted the visa? Should he apply with his family again for F1 and F2 visa? Any suggestions from the gurus and VO's in the house?will really cherish one right now. Thanks. |

fab11: Yes. Correct it asap. The US embassy wants you to correct it 72 hours before your interview but you can be lucky to get it down in lesser time. How? Call the US embassy and/or send them an email, and explain. |

segunjames82: First of all, both your sister and her husband are definitely guilty of misrepresentation. The only way out of this is to go with receipts and letter of non-indebtedness and hopefully they will meet a kind V.O who is willing to overlook their previous infractions. Goodluck 1 Like |

Hello Team, Based on experience, do you think it is ideal to have a US based sponsor for your education along with graduate assistantship support? How would it be addressed at the embassy. This is urgent please. Let me know if the embassy would grant me my F1 Visa knowing that with my sponsor is based in the US. |

Hello house, Pls, is "Person/entity paying for your trip as shown in travel section on form DS-160" the same as "sponsor, i.e person sponsoring my school fees and my stay abroad"? I don't want to make silly mistakes. And, is it mandatory for all non-immigrants (students) to undergo tuberculosis test? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Enasdan(m): 12:34pm On Aug 07, 2018 |
Incomparable:to your first question is yes, your sponsor is the one paying for your trip, ( because these is an option for self, if you're the one sponsoring yourself) for your second question probably not necessary, but others with good experience can do justice to the question 1 Like |

Chazblagos: This was similar to my situation last year at exact this same period when my undergraduate school frustrated the living hell out of me over my transcript, coupled with low gre score of 289 and low undergraduate Cgpa of 2.88 that I even announced my own suicidal on this same thread and I really meant it. Special thanks to lagosismyhome and some other meaningful people here who said some consoling words to me, Fast forward to today, With the same gre score and low Cgpa, I got 5 admissions for MBA in five tier2 universities. I got assistance ship from two of my admits, And I am on my way to my visa approval in couple of days time. If I had taken my life back then, will I be here sharing this?, NO. So bro, suicide isn't the last option, I have read here about someone who applied to us embassy 7 times and got visa the 7th time, another one of 5th time. When there is life, there is hope bro. 29 Likes |
