I have a friend who was required to show proof of funds, before his admission was finalized by Dalhousie University. So I guess some Canadian schools do require POF

jnyuwa02:

Doesn’t work like the USA where by law schools are required to demand proof of your ability to fund your education before you are accepted. Canadian schools work on a need blind admission formula, meaning they accept you without requiring proof of your ability to finance Your education. The job of the determination of proof is solely that of the Visa Officer in the Canadian system.

Please were you requested to go for medical? If yes was your passport photocopy attached to the request letter?Did you book appointment for your medical? And in which hospital?

uyplus:

Frank, please are we supposed to scan and send the emedical form to CIC upon completion of the medical exams or will the hospital rather inform them?

Nothing yet. If I don’t hear from them by end of this week, I may have to consider alternatives.

Biakwa,

BACKGROUND CHECK: means they are matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list.

REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY: is the final check and the final stage of your application at the Visa Office. At this point, all of the components of your application are assessed by CIC. They will be checking if you actually QUALIFY for a study permit and if your application meet the requirements of the IRCC Act.
During the eligibility review, the Visa officer will then request for medical check ups as needed by the Visa Office to complete your application.

Most times, it is the Review of Eligibility that some applicants fail to meet because their applications and conditions does not meet the requirements of the IRCC Act (Insufficient funds, course correlation, limited home ties, failure to convince the visa officer that the primary intention is to study). Other checks are just standard procedure for CIC.

After successful review of applicant application and considering that there were no serious issues in the medical checkup, mispresentation, and security to ensure that you will not be a danger to Canadians should your study permit be approved, the Visa Officer will then request for your passport.

Very insightful!

Was wondering, are thes Visa officers strictly Canadians or they are mixed i.e mixtures of other nationalities?

Frankrobbn1:

Hello:

In terms of having someone in assisting, arranging and making sure your documents are properly filled... Paper route will be your best bet here.

Going through paper route, you will complete your biometrics same day, submit your passport with your application and pay for your visa application fee of #56,050 at the counter in the VFS office.

Filling the forms before heading to the VFS Office will be cheaper because you will be charged like 7K to get your forms filled by some bussiness centers (Cyber Cafe) outside the VFS office premises. (Putting into consideration that you're a novice, you might decide to pay them to help fill your form, so as to avoid mistakes).

Use this medium to access the forms needed for your application and follow the instructions provided:
DOWNLOAD STUDY VISA APPLICATION FORMS

Furthermore, there are no best route to use (be it online or paper) in as much as people get refused and approved in both routes.

All the best!

Alright. You might want to confirm that.

I'm curious though.
Has your passport already expired or is it soon to expire?
Was it a Study Visa?
And does the validity of the Visa extend past the expiry date of your passport?

ImperialCovfefe:

Thank you. I think renewal will be permissible (see attached image and link).

LOL. See plenty english.

Okay o. Mr Clown.

123abcclown:
It makes no sense that a VO will deny one's visa application because of the tone of inquiry email (after application passed average processing time) or because of frequent inquiry emails.

These insinuation lacks critical reasoning at best, at worst I'd say the thought process comes across as retarded; especially when we have seen someone send 7 or 8 inquiry email get approval here on this thread.
