Why not specify the variant of xiaomi redmi note 5 you are talking about, because last I checked, the black variant of xiaomi redmi note 5 Global Version 64gb still costs over 73k to ship to nigeria, while that of global rom costs around 67k, that's if you are lucky not to be charged by Nipost. Add that to the cost of accessories sellers are adding to these items and check it vis a vis the price they sell here.

You are making it sound as if sellers make a huge chunk from buyers here whereas many even sell with as little as 3k profit margin when you factor in the cost of accessories.

aren't you also buying accessories for them?

Like you, I tried all manner of stuffs, almost got frustrated till It I got a trick that made it work easily. It may also work for you.

1. Configure your Apn to ntel and choose as your default internet sim

2. Go to preferred network on ntel sim and set to 2g only this is very important and it's the trick that worked.

3. After setting to 2g only, then launch *#*#4636#*#* once you select the info for the ntel sim, you should see gsm only already selected. This is also very important.
If gsm only is not selected, you gave to force close it and start the steps again.
But once gsm only appears, just change it to LTE only and viola you will see network. Worked for smile too

Welcome me to the Xiaomi brand. Picked up my order yesterday and fell in love with the Mi 5 again. Its receiving wows from friends and family. It is sleek, feather weight and fast.

My only disappointment is the charging time for a phone that is quick charge 3.0 and with its own charger. The Chinese sellers threw in 2 adaptors for use with flat 2 pin charger they have.

Its a good phone, no regrets so far. It came with Android 7, miui 9.2 and the update to miui 9.5.5 has arrived.

Simple! An apt comment devoid of sentiments. Personally, if I were a buyer, I might choose to order by myself if I wasn't in urgent need of a phone. But in a case where I urgently need a phone and I discover slight difference between a local sellers price and the foreign seller, why waste time waiting for the item to be shipped from abroad when I know I can get it faster locally.

Lets even leave phones apart and look at other items we use like cars etc. Are these cars sold the same price locally as they are sold abroad? The answer can only be yes if the importers have decided to become Mother Theresa.

Copy the rom to another folder before updating.

Go to settings/ installed apps/ updater. Then clear cache.



Then try again.

No bug but d immediate previous version sucked battery juice a lot. I'm just testing this 8.8.9 ROM (infact got d update today)
