mostouc:Those certificates do not matter. 5 points from state is not always guaranteed, you just have to apply and hope for the best. Have you decide on what to nominate? |

Hello house, please has anyone assessed as a mathematician, actuary or statistician? Please help assess this situation? The current JD suits that of a mathematician and actuary (since they are almost the same thing). The person has got Bsc in mathematics from a Tier 1 uni and to get a positive assessment from VETASSeS for actuary, they can consider this based on relevant skilled employment which she has. The issue is mathematician is on STSOL while Actuary is MLTSSL and therefore open to more state nomination and 189. The question is if the person nominates Mathematician she is limited to Victoria,Tasmania and NT and getting the POF stated is difficult, any suggestions on how to go about this? If she nominates actuary it's more open to NSW and the likes but stands a risk of negative assessment. Hence the dilemma. Just need advise from more experienced people on how to go about making a better choice. Thank you. |

@Fatima04, It is a tough call but the only way to find out is to get in touch with VETASSES. I am not sure if they still do their advisory service. If they still do, do that first. |

Hello Everyone. Thanks to Oga Bellong who created this thread. You are forever blessed Sir. To others who have helped selflessly and who are still actively contributing, thanks too. On the 28th of March,2018 i got a negative assessment from AIQS. I had given up.I was advised by my case officer to appeal. On this thread i got in-touch with @qstomiwa and he guided me through my appeal process. He did this selflessly. He went through all my appeal documents and repackaged them. God bless you Tomiwa. I followed Tomiwa's advice and recommendations from the assessors of my first application strictly and appealed. I got a positive assessment on 9th of August, 2018. My UniUyo BSC Quantity Surveying Degree that was previously not recognised because UniUyo was not recognised by CEP online was now recognized. My Unilag Masters Degree was recognized. My Work experience was recognised from when i got my BSC. QS Degree. Tomiwa was the brain behind the repackaging. Thanks to @qstomiwa once again and to everyone helping in all ways. 13 Likes 1 Share |

fatima04:Go for actuary-Qualifications in Mathematics or Statistics with supporting highly relevant employment will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. I believe if your JD closely matches that of an actuary, you will get a positive assessment. Packaging will solve this issue. 1 Like |

Good evening everyone. Good news first. I just got 20 points from my second PTE attempt. Now I have 65 points. Occupation is mechanical engineering. I know my chances for 189 are very slim. Can I apply for 489 and 190, and still put in for the 189? Secondly, I did not claim work experience for my EA assessment but I graduated in 2014 and I have been working for about 1 year and 8 months (full time) and another 1 year and 5 months as an intern at the same place before full time employment. Making it a little over 3 years altogether. Can I claim points for this? 2 Likes |

korlahwarleh: I believe you can claim work experience points as long as you are able to provide adequate documents to back up the claim I.e pay slips, statement, reference letter, employment offer etc, also ensure the roles are in line with the ANZSCO roles. Because you will have to add all this when submitting your application |

Hi guys! Quick questions 1) Can someone get work permit easier than PR? And does it involve skill assessment? 2) After getting PR based on an occupation, can someone change career path after landing in AU? |
