Welcome me to the Xiaomi brand. Picked up my order yesterday and fell in love with the Mi 5 again. Its receiving wows from friends and family. It is sleek, feather weight and fast.

My only disappointment is the charging time for a phone that is quick charge 3.0 and with its own charger. The Chinese sellers threw in 2 adaptors for use with flat 2 pin charger they have.

Its a good phone, no regrets so far. It came with Android 7, miui 9.2 and the update to miui 9.5.5 has arrived.

Can we see the charger it came with? Mine charges very fast indeed!

They have no differences. The word version is mentioned is just referring to the ROM or firmware.

Only thing i notice is that; Global Version supports LTE 20 band while Global ROM not.

Yes but if you have to move back to stable rom, you would be required to unlock your bootloader.

Your cable might be the issue. I had that problem with selection of cable when I was using gionee m5

I thought same but my location makes it difficult to access a C type usb cable. I want to be able to say factually it it has a charging problem before returning it. Everything works perfectly except charging.

Calling the Redmi series camera great by any standard may not be the whole truth or better still be an uninformed statement. Nowadays, even cheap potato phones come with a serviceable camera for casual snaps.

Low light photography is what mainly differentiates a good, great or awesome camera. Google camera takes the good camera in the RN5 or any Redmi series phone and makes it great especially for indoor shots.

If you know, you know!

In other news, for audiophiles, you should try out Dolby Atmos and Viper audio combo especially with any near decent earphone.
