I don't blame RN5 fans sha, it's those Indian geeks I blame. Despite the popularity of the phone I've never seen XDA so short of tweaks or solutions aside a few custom ROMs. I still give the RN5 another 6 months to catch up, maybe by then Xiaomi would have turned their strictness to another model.

for phones like redmi note 4, n redmi 5 plus, (the 2 i have used n tested gcam on) the gcam makes the pictures better but for redmi note 5, I'll agree with protein0 that the difference isn't that much actually. The rn5 camera is already good enough for most usage.

The phones charger is 5.0v= 2.5A and i have tried my other chargers, my car charger and an Acer tablet charger. All are not charging. The only thing i have not done is use another USB cable and since the phone is c type, its not easy to find in my current location.

Same result in low light? Same result with selfies, same details? If true it can only be one reason- the Gcam mode is not properly optimised for the Redmi note 5 or maybe the versions you tried. The Redmi note 4 with Gcam takes better pics under low light than the Redmi note 5 native camera app, it's especially obvious with selfies.

There's none at that price range. Phones that support that band are the Mi note 2, Mi Mix 2s and the Redmi note 5 Taiwanese version, all cost above your budget.
