Do you remember my comment about this movie when i said i am tired of DRock OTT and fake stunt movies? Before obixcel raised people's expectations when he wrote his report watch after watching at the cinema?

No, I don't. I must have missed it. But I'm glad with the recent revelation I'm reading about the movie. The best decision I made was to wait for the Bluray version and by so doing, got to know the movie is average. This means I'll download the 480p version which is about 326mb and save a lot of MB I'd have wasted if I'd downloaded it in 780p earlier on.

The hype about the series was so high at the series thread that I've downloaded the complete 2 seasons 2 weeks ago. The only reason I'm yet to watch it is that I'm still trying to complete The Blacklist season 1 to 5 and Killing Eve season 1. After them, I'll watch it. Even my friends I sent the series to can't stop raving about it.

Judging a book by it's cover? That is a sure path to ignorance. Also racist to assume everything on film from Spain or Latin America is "telenovela".

It would be like someone saying that Guardians of the Galaxy has a "Star Trek vibe".

Let it be known. I don't like Tyler Perry and I don't like telenovelas.

La casa del papel is by far the best TV show for 2017/2018. Bro, just watch it

Dude, it's telenovela-ish. I know this because I have watched the whole thing long ago. The narrator very aggravating. The first season started out okay, but by the time I rolled into season 2, I was bored as f**k.

I don't know what you're on about. I will have you know I dig "well produced" shows from the latin world.

3% is a decent dystopian sci-fi from Brazil. Club de Cuervos is an hilarious football comedy from Mexico. El Chapo is a narcotics-themed drama from Mexico. Vis-a-Vis (Locked up) is a prison-themed drama from Spain. Gomorrah is a fantastic Mafia-themed drama from Italy. Narcos is a narcotics-themed drama from Colombia/US.

I dig these shows because they don't give off telenovela vibes. They're not melodramatic. They're serious business.

Money Heist doesn't have these qualities.

Listing all these TV shows will not cover your f4ck up.

I would like you to define "telenovela" and apply it to money heist.

Eya. You just stumbled on the show recently, and is wowed. Understandable. I've been there. I recommended the show to people last year in the series thread. The irony is I fall out of love with it pretty fast even as people were asking me for links. I found it melodramatic. Everything is just too much drama. A lot of people love it though.

Hahahaha.

What f**kup?? Telenovela are latina shows that are synonymous with exaggerated emotions. In other words, latina shows that are melodramatic. Google the definition of "melodrama".

Bro, don't let me spoil your Monday morning. I am an expert in arguing and PhD in trolling.

How can you just sit down and deflate my joy from watching money heist?

The series was sensational.

Would you like it if someone said that game of thrones is just "DRAMA with swords and dragons"?

I haven't been pained this much on nairaland since ishilove derailed my thread and banned me for complaining!

Too vague. It is a bank robbery with hostages that lasted many days. Do you expect emotions to be stable? What do you consider "exaggerated"?

I say this because telenovela has a specific definition- Spanish/Portuguese language soap operas with dramatic overacting.

I didn't see any overacting in the money heist series.

Everything is exaggerated from beginning till end. Perhaps because you haven't watched proper dramas from HBO and Showtime, you didn't notice?

First, start with Oz, and work your way down to The Wire, The Sopranos, Broadwalk Empire, The Newsroom, 6 Feet Under, Show me a Hero, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, Patrick Melrose, Dexter, The Leftovers, The Chi, Succession, Taboo, True Detective, Brotherhood, Billions, Homeland, The Affair, Fargo, The Deuce.... So many, but start with these.

Lolz. It's not really that difficult. I watch tv shows much more than movies. I find them more cerebral.

The guy is just too good. He's like my port of call whenever I need good TV shows to watch. That list is small, so many TV shows, he's seen them all. Till today, I'm still in awe of his movies/series repertoire.

Just finished watching Money Heist and I'd say it's a masterpiece.

spoilers ahead

But here some things that just doesn't add up in the movie.

For example when "The Professor" seemed to have had a such a master plan already why then did he ruin it by gathering a bunch of amateurs (I called the whole crew amatuers due to their babyish attitudes)

the plan was just too pro to give a bunch of kids that couldn't keep away their feelings for just 10+ days they spent in there. In fact the movie was just ruined due to the that foolishness by the writers

Major Payne..8/10
Genre: comedy

I saw this movie yesterday night, and disturbed my whole neighborhood with my laughter. If you love Damon Wayans style of acting especially on the TV series lethal weapon, then you'll definitely love this movie.

Actually, I had a completely opposite reaction. I felt that it's super heartbreaking, certainly on par with Titanic level of feels. It's 7-ish from me. I respect your opinion anyhow.

The movie was quite emotional I must confess, but I guess my emotional bar was kinda higher than what was showcased in the movie. I haven't really seen Titanic, am not a fan of Romance/ Romantic movies. Though I've read about the unsinkable ship which later sunk.

Gbam! This is exactly what put me off in the first place. The melodrama. Everything is overblown and over-dramatized. I couldn't stand the infantile behaviour of some of the major characters, esp the narrator. In fact, the whole thing is soapish.

Wow! Can't believe you haven't seen Titanic. It's more than just a romantic movie, it's much more. It's arguably the best tear inducing movie since the turn of the century. You better go and watch it oo.
