Your fears are quite understandable. However, if you regularly visit this Thread and read the posts it would help you to determine the vendors here that you can take your first trust step with. Frankly our major vendors here are all tried and trusted. This is coming from a satisfied Thread member that also had those initial concerns and took the above suggested steps. Several different transactions and devices ordered and received from them since this and last year and still counting..

Just to lend a voice to this too. I bought my current phone from the US through Specuit cargo and currently have an order worth over 250,000 from Justi4jesus. **People i've never met or know where their offices are** I've also bought something from someone here in this thread. All transactions were paid for up front.

Everyone understands if you don't part with your hard earned cash easily but there are lots of honest hardworking Nigerians in here and out there.

I am so happy to inform you guys that i got another USB cable and the phone reached 25% in less than 20mins, not counting the booster charge that took 3 mins before the first 1%. In 1hr 35mins i have 98%. This was done by my car charger 5v2A.

It seams the issue is confirmed to be the cable.
congrats man. at least stress and cost saved

Good day pals, I went to the post office 2day to collect a xiaomi phone I ordered. Surprisingly, I was told to pay about #8.5k as per custom due. What I paid for the phone is roughly #46k. Please who has experienced this before?

You want a good and solid device and you opted for XIAOMI, well you made a very good choice. But I want you to know that there are some sellers present here that are very trustworthy and some are less trustworthy while some can't be trusted at all.
If you choose any Seller to make a deal with here, just know that it's at your RISK, because I am not in anyway affiliated to any of the SELLERS here.
I have neither seen nor received any parcel from any SELLER from this thread.
So please I beg. Do not call me to threaten or make accusations. This is a faceless FORUM so trade at your own RISK.
I advise SELLERS to be more reasonable with the way they POST adverts and try to keep up with their policies. If really you are a GENUINE SELLER like you claim then try to add an OFFICE ADDRESS TO YOUR POST.
Blessings.

What if they don't have office addresses? Is that a criteria for being genuine?

Well said. But office address doesn't make one less or more genuine....
For example, I sell here and I'm also an employee of an organization. I cannot post my employers address as my own business address. However, I have always done my utmost to ensure that my customers get value for their money. ALWAYS! .

The post office bug don catch you. Sorry about that. A lot of guys here have experienced it. Certifiedfool being one of the latest.

Try to negotiate the amount with them.

BTW, I thought someone was claiming here that there was nothing like post office charging people for a fictitious customs duty?

Tell them you can afford the momey, and you want the item sent back to the seller ASAP,or write a letter for the charges to be reduced..

The last guy that experience such, has had is item sent back and aliexpress kindly favoured him in a dispute…

Cheers
