Short Story on Self Confidence* There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy. Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said. After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.” He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.” Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come. The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world! “I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought. With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again. Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man. “I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.” And she led the old man away by the arm. The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him. Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after. Let's face our fears this week with a new ray of hope and self confidence. We can only become better if we try. We can't achieve nothing by folding arms in depression. Our best is yet to come. |

Why you need to go organic. Never in the history of Nigeria agriculture is the promotion of organic farming reached a new level of adoption than now. As a part of the Go-organic movement, I have come to a realisation although organic foods are quite expensive but the benefits it offers cannot be over quantified to it's cost. Not only the environmental benefits but also the health benefits it offers. Recently,I came across some studies have indicated that the use of pesticides even at low doses can increase the risk of certain cancers , such as leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, breast cancer and prostate cancer. I understand as a farmer the thousands of litres of these harmful chemicals are used season in season out without recourse to the environment and health. We need to urgently take actions daily to protect our health and improve our environment for better living. We need to save the lives of children who are highly vulnerable, young adults we are losing to terminal diseases as a result, and usher in a new generation of healthy conscious individuals. Enough said. Go organic. You can as well order for your organic plantain directly from our farm. We deliver nationwide. #agriculture#agribusiness#farm#farming#goorganic#organicplantain#farmer#food |

There is a required number of bunch you can sell to break even, having lesser than that will not get you your expected returns. Whenever people tells me that they are starting on a plot of land,I tell them they can start to get more knowledge and skills but not to make money;even breaking even is not possible with plots of land not to talk of making profit.. 1 Like |

You cannot be doing the same thing and expecting different results...Thats the first law of madness. If you are not happy about the result you got from your previous attempt, why not try another way for better result. You cant continue with the way our grandfathers' generation engage in agriculture and think you can make good money. Change is the word, upgrade your skills, change your attitude and thinking towards the business. and you are certain to get a good result. Good morning |

Johnboom:okay. You can either stake the plantain when they have started fruiting or you build windbreak. You should also treat with nematicides (most plantain being affected are eaten inside and become very weak to withstand strong wind/breeze. |

By the year 2050,we will have more mouth to feed and must boost our food production level by 300%. Presently, the majority of the food produced are cultivated by over 30 million Africa small scale farmers who are seriously in need of help to improve efficiency and effectiveness to reach the level at which we can be able to cater for the teeming populations. Its not too late to be part of this booming wealth creating opportunity |
