Rosicky7: Abeg o, I dunno how this works, but I thought one could walk into mansard office and get the insurance at that price, or will they quote a higher price for you? Yes you can walk into any Mansard office and get it done [17k+] for 6 months. It doesn't take time to get it done at all. In 24 hours or less you are good to go. You can still use Kenthumphz contact though or you use my contact. You can do it from the comfort of your home. PM me so I can give you the contact |

Aren't you curious to read whatever document given to you before signing. The only corrective measure I can think of is to mail them your blocked account confirmation. FAQQ: I greet you all my noble people. Please, I need urgent help on an issue relating to what happened during my interview. I attended the interview with a funded block account but the VO still gave me a form to sign.I signed it, I didn’t know the form was block account funding agreement. It was later someone told me the form is meant for those that are yet to fund the block account. I believe the VO made a mistake.I had my interview July 19. Please, what correction measure would you recommend. Thank you |

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by MaroCruz(m): 6:23pm On Aug 14, 2018 |
FAQQ: Yes, I could remember the VO asked me how much I transferred to the account. So,I doubt if the form was in anyway related to block account. Also, I just remembered that the VO asked me to cross check if the details on the form were my correct information. Therefore, I think I got a wrong info from the person that that told me about signing of form exclusively meant for applicants yet to fund BA...Notwithstanding, our leaders in the house can still bless us with their insightful response in any case concerning the aforementioned issue. I filled the same form, the form has just your data on it and you sign at the bottom. The form for blocked acct is different from that |

tmed1: Hi guys, I haven't been on this thread for long. I am one of the Nigerians that benefited enormously from the German Student Visa thread. Sorry, I didn't come here often to give back to the prospective students (Study life and work didn’t make it easy).
I would like to give the following advice to prospective students:
1. Consider the chance to study in Germany a privilege. Germany is one of the few countries that provides the platform for international students (from developing countries) to study without paying a fortune.
2. Life here would not be easy. The point here is, if you are not from a rich family, you would have to work while you study. Unfortunately, in some cases, I have seen fellow international students with misplaced priorities. Some international students (from developing countries) make jobs their "main job", and their study "mini-jobs". Education in Germany is designed in a way that you cannot get rich as a student and succeed in education at the same time. You have to choose one. I recommend you choose a part-time job; this enables you to complete your studies successfully in due time.
3. Learn German. No one expects you to speak the language perfectly. If you spend about 1-2 hours each day learning German, you will reach an intermediate level in 6 months (practice speaking, listening, writing) - In my opinion, speaking and listening are the most important of all. The point is learning, at least, basic German is important to find student jobs because a worker would have to speak German to attend to customers' needs. More importantly, by the time you complete your studies, your proficiency in German would probably be so good that the language barrier wouldn't hinder you from applying to professional jobs.
4. Don't associate yourselves only with your fellow countrymen. Take advantage of the cultural diversity in your respective universities. Respect the culture of your host country and the cultural differences of your fellow students.
5. Once in a while, you might experience racial discrimination (e.g. racial slurs), gender discrimination, or sexual orientation discrimination. Remember this: In life, you will always come across idiots.
6. The first time I was traveling to study abroad in February 2012, the immigration officer who stamped my passport realized that I was traveling out of Nigeria for the first time. Then he looked at me in the eye and asked: "Who are you going there to represent?" Myself, I answered. He shook his head and said no. He asked me the same question again; I said, my parents. He shook his head again, indicating disagreement. Then he finally told me, with a wagging finger: "You are going there to represent Nigeria".
I wish all the prospective visa applicants success in their interviews. Congratulations to those who already got their visa approved. By choosing Germany, I think it is one of the best professional decisions we will make because we can invest in an excellent education – and our professional future – without paying a fortune.
See you all in Germany! And for those that chose NRW, our paths may cross!
Nice write up bro, where in NRW are you? i'm also there....in the 'Dome City' to be precise |

Hello Guys,
So I got the fintiba plus package which comes with health insurance; on my visa application form will I be right to select yes for "do you have health insurance that covers the fed rep of Germany"? (Given that I'm not in Germany yet)
Secondly, At what point do I need a travel insurance? Before or after getting my visa?
Thanks in advance for your assistance |

Me too. Had interview in Lagos, same date. Hopefully, AM should drop this week.
Going to Potsdam, btw. @okpala95 I am considering Potsdam (MSC) and I will like to ask you some questions about the application requirement. The course I am going for is taught in English but part of the application requirement is that I provide proof of German language skill (A2). How do you advise I go about this? Also, Did you certify the docs you sent to uni-assist. Thanks in advance |

Rimz28: Who knows what it takes to open a dom account. Because I wanna use it to fund my blocked account. Also which bank in Nigeria can anyone suggest that is best for such transactions Was in this situation last month. My options were Zenith, First bank, and Gtb. Although I heard Gtb Dom services is good but I still went to all to get their forms and for answers to my enquiries. They require same documents to open: ID card(passport, driver's license, etc), utility bill(phcn, water etc) and two references from current account holders from any bank(not salary accounts tho). I think that's all(if memory serves me right). You can walk up to them and ask. But I was more particular about the transfer charges because the block account payment can only be made twice due to daily limit. Zenith is 70€/eqv of 70$ (can't remember) per transfer, making a total of 140. It was much from the charges I got from first bank and Gtb, with first bank being slightly better. The only glitch for me with first bank is that they require initial deposit of 100€ and I wasn't ready for that. So, I decided to go for Gtb : forms to fill are simple and straight to point(except you don't have an account with them) , charges are cheap and cheaper than others if it's an inflow into your account and not desk deposit by your aboki/you. And charges can be paid in naira as I was told, which is cool. Good luck 3 Likes |

Good luck I opened with Firstbank recently and the lady that attended to me told me that the operating balance is 50 euros. I did not really ask about transfer charges. I guess it didn't occur to me. Opened it and got my account number same day. It is faster to open where you already have an account. |
