Heartyz:
I said I was going to do this a very long time ago but kept procastinating . For those that will get to Training School(TS), congrats in anticipation. Yes, it is so true that it is not easy but the moment you doubt yourself one bit, u will eventually get kicked out. Yes, u will have the very brainy ones from several African countries, Master degree holders from Ivy League schools, you will also find colleagues in TS chartered in highly reputable qualifications (ICAAN etc), you will find ppl with work experience then u look at urself with just the humble B.Sc u struggled to bag. Let me tell u one thing, there is no competition, see these ppl with all those achievements as an opportunity to mingle and become a better and more exposed person(funny enough, they don't always happen to top the class with all those extras) . From the onset, don't look down on anyone cos u never can ever tell what is within.
U will be challenged, u will be pushed to the wall, if care is not taken u might choose to drop out on ur own but if u persevere, u will see that it is worth it. Never for once give in to the pressure or stress. TS Was The most challenging moment of my life but the most valuable cos it made me a better and more confident person. I felt super smart, stupid and like a dummy at some point in TS.
In TS, the maximum number of courses you are allowed to fail is just 4(and u must rewrite them and pass all) and the pass mark is 65. You must offer about fourty sth courses including Four accounting courses of ICAN standard (many trainees dreaded accounting but the fear alone not actually failure took them out) I have never been good with calculations but I swore to give accounting my best shot, I fought through with all I got, I humbled myself to beg anyone that cares to teach me. That is why u don't have to look down on anyone or be egoistic. I topped my class in some courses but the failures made me forget that I was once good and once performed well in some courses, I failed four courses and I knew that another failure will see me out. I cried most times in class and experienced my first stage of depression but my saviour was the willingness to finish, God and the very good friends I made(u don't have time for fake frnds in TS, trust me) .
Y'all might not have same experience as I did but no matter how challenging it gets, never ever lose hope, believe strongly in urself, make good friends, Pls and pls speak up when u're getting frustrated, learn to talk to someone. Be open minded, love and savor every moment, be a fighter.
TS is fun, your Facilitators are very experienced, internationally trained and highly sort after professionals. They are good hearted and willing to listen, don't be afraid to ask questions in class no matter how stupid (they are HEAVILY paid to make sure u understand). Don't forget to have fun to ease off tension .
Forgive my typos, If any, I stole out time to type this epistle and refused to proofread cos today is a busy day for me.
I look forward to seeing you all inducted to the Access family, it is fun here and worth it.
Not everyone had a resit or failed a course, many ppl found it so smooth, so don't let this write-up discourage you but pick the few necessary points and remember there are mouth watering prizes for the best in each course and best overall.
If I can do it, anyone else can.
NB: I'm not sure of the email I registered this account with. Feel free to bug me with any question here

Pls inbox me your number

Are you entry level applicant or frontline
ObaOloye:

You've been waiting since July 5th and you're complaining. You will learn to tarry. We that didn't hear anything for months nko From march to July....Nothing.... You need to understand that you're not their top priority, so many other factors can stall the process..

Entry level
Re: Access Bank Calling For Aptitude Test (entry-level) (2014) by Edondo2018: 2:09pm On Aug 15, 2018
Well, I'm not here to argue with you. I'm sure from what I posted I wrote on frontline. It's wrong to have said frontline interns ain't priority. Everyone has its job role and I posted that just to get the attention of those who have also completed the recruitment process and awaiting their 2 weeks training school. Whichever way, out both goals is to get admitted into the training school ASAP

Nigerians, quick to play the victim card. I didn't say you as in people that applied for front line nor entry level. I meant you as in applicant, no matter what you applied for including me. It is the hard truth but we're not priority to the bank. So if you have that notion begin now to change it. They'll contact us when they have our time. Till then... You and I are still not priority

Na preference. Most random official vehicles come in manual but for personal use you can choose auto or manual. The only reason you wouldn't get a 2019 kia Rio by that time is if it hasn't been released. They give the latest model of that Rio as at the time you finish TS
Re: Access Bank Calling For Aptitude Test (entry-level) (2014) by Edondo2018: 4:47pm On Aug 15, 2018
Victim card & priority. It's your opinion anyway. I hope you know that Alot of people read this Thread and the words choosen matters Alot. You can't be throwing vocabulary anyhow without knowing the meaning as pertain to the current situation. Also, discouragement is the least people need here especially when they are hopeful on a job. Priority is a word you don't use anyhow. A simple, "let us all be patient, it will get to our turn" is a better reply to what I posted earlier than saying because we all haven't been contacted, we are not a priority. Alot of people can get discourage by that statement. As for me, I fully understand your point. When it's time they will get intouch

its generally gmat questions
problem solving
antonyms
synonyms
sentence revision
logical reasoning.
The questions are not really difficult, but somehow tricky, there was enough time (30 questions for 1 hour) so you can go over your answers very well.
Let me add that the exam is in four stages
the first one is the eq test (situational judgement), that one has no pass or fail, after that is the aptitude test where you must get at least 50points before you can proceed to the next stage which is IQ test which also has pass mark of 50, (once you pass this stage, you will be invited for panel interview).
The last stage is the psychometric test, which is just to create a behaviour profile, it has no pass nor fail.

Panel interview, Just as interesting as you could imagine...
There were 4 people when I did mine comprise 2 male and female...
Tips:
1. Nail your introduction very well, they are checking CV word for word as you introduce yourself, so make sure your are giving a proper and correct information when introducing yourself.
I met a guy at the TMI level and we spoke about the panel level and he told me he was so fortunate that after introducing himself. So make sure your introduction is so on point and funnily it depends on the set of people that makes up your panel.
Some people would only appreciate your introduction if you have gathered alot of Certificate, some go for alot of experience and so on.
Once you say something that entices them, they would most likely stop you there and continue other questions

2. Make sure you don't leave that place without impressing at least two among the panelist, like I always advice work on the ladies who are among the panelist or the most interesting personality among them...
How do you know the most interesting personality, the one that is asking most of the questions and the one documenting most of your comments.

3. Know the rule of a Panel interview
You must know that you are expected to communicate with all of them, although you might want to make eye contact with the most with the person that asked a particular question

4. Most panel interview usually require you to have an argumentative perspective on every thing been asked.
You know how arguments are, after trying to convince one person before you know another person would just look for a loophole from what you say last to break you down but people who know how to argue will still speak... You know this things

5. There are some basic things you should learn about Access Bank, although you would be taught at the entrance if it's the HQ...
like the Vision, mission statement, Core values, there history, management, Financial Set up if you are Accountant etc there set up... Read that up with Google and on there website

6. Last but not the least, Optional but very helpful...
Try to know there names and there units when they are introducing themselves to you...
-It shows how smart you could be
-it shows how fast a learner you could be
- it improves communication between them and you
If you can't, it doesn't matter because most of the time when they are introducing themselves, your just stepping in and may be tensed...

Be Yourself, and enjoy it... This is just Panel Interview...
Look good and keep a smiling face even when you are angry about the kind of questions you are being asked..
This is just my own little advice to you, not final though...

Can someone help with the answer to this interview question

"why choose a career in banking", especially for someone who studied an engineering course
Truly, looking at the Traditional Banking industry one may say an Engineer doesn't fit into it... That was when paper works were the main thing and people must come to the banking environments for transactions.
But the today and the Tomorrow World, things have changed due to the advent and improvement of the technology world, Banking Industry needs more of the science oriented Minds to run it set up in order to meet up with changing technological world...
For example, Mobile phones has almost solved the problem of customers coming close to banking environs, they buy things in the comfort of there homes, send people money without deposit slip..... Those are few role in which the engineering world has helped the Banking sector... So me coming to the bank would definitely be an added advantage to the bank because am so familiar with many software packages in the tech world, it's the financial background that I need to improve myself on.
That's just a perspective
Other improvement from the tech world to the Banking industry
1. Fintech
2. Social Media and how you can influence people to patronize the Bank
3. ATM machine or other payment platform
4. The Banking Apps
And so on
That's what you can use to convince anyone, remember you might not complete all this speech before they would redirect another question....
