komekn: I think Moses just felt it was the right time. Remember he will be 31 come next world cup. I don't think you can force Moses out because he is so strong mentality that nothing ever gets to him. |

Talking about Victor Moses being a legend of the Nigerian game. This is subjective, depending on who you want to classify as a legend. Let me role out my list of Nigerian legends and lets see if Victor Moses belongs to that Class. Teslim "Thunder" Balogun Christian Chukwu Segun Odegbami Adokiye Amiesimaka Stephen Keshi Rashidi Yekini Emmanuel Amuneke Austin Okocha Finidi George Daniel Amokachi (arguably) Victor Ikpeba Kanu Nwankwo Sunday Oliseh Peter Rufai Vincent Enyeama Does Victor Moses belong to that Class? I don't think so. 1 Like |

edi287:Atlanta 96 was Nigeria's first trophy at that level on the World Stage. AFCON was not out first. Kanu is also an Arsenal legend Moses is not a Chelsea legend If you want to give Moses legend status based on AFCON, then Sunday Mba should also be a Nigerian football legend. Kanu started a heart foundation that has helped millions, what has Moses helped anybody do? You assume being a legend is solely about football. It is not just about playing a game, it is about the sacrifices you make in the process of playing. Which sacrifice has Moses ever made for the GwG? He used the team to elevate himself, but never did anything to his own detriment for the sake of the team. Nigga was a selfish ass mofo and he wasn't even good enough to cover up for it. Not one record worthy of note on any stage. Is that your legend? Moses is not a Legend, he's not even a Hero or a Star, maybe he could be a Guinness because he's made of black 6 Likes |

I don't classify players like: Martins, Yakubu, Ike Uche, Utaka, Taiwo, Osaze as legends, yet I rank them ahead of Moses. 4 Likes |

tbaba1234: You already did so it is better you show your proof. I personally don't believe one word of it. Go look at any of the matches Moses played lately, I even suggested he would play wing back over a year ago because of how hard he worked as a winger. Mikel was the one who even publicly said he loved playing at his position but because people already have an opinion on this quiet boy you are choosing to make him a scapegoat |

safarigirl:We are talking about achievements ON THE PITCH for the national team please. Atlanta 96 was an age grade competition. Vic Moses had a better AFCON than Sunday Mba. He has performed for us at the WCQ. Vic Moses has performed just as well or even better in the super eagles than Kanu. Did Kanu ever make the Afcon team of the tournament? How many goals did Kanu score at AFCON and World Cup? 1 Like |

komekn: Occam Razor, the simplest explanation is usually the best. Victor Moses has provided enough data points over the last few years to show that he was finding it increasing difficult to honour national calls for friendlies and low level games. I do not doubt his commitment while on the pitch. I am one of those who defended Moses here but i can not ignore that he is retiring at 27 especially after all his excuses not to come for games. It all points to the same conclusion. Making these national team games are getting harder for him. |

edi287: Lol.. Kanu literally built his national team career on the Olympics achievement. He was largely passive from France 98-SA 2010. It's a shame a player as talented as Kanu couldn't buy a goal in any tournament for Nigeria after Atlanta 96. |

It's a pity Moses will be throwing in the towel at this moment, especially when the failure in Russia was blamed on the teams lack of experience. People like Moses should be leading the young generation of attacking players. Mane at the same age as Moses is leading Senegal from. What we are left with are largely untested, fledgling wing players without the fear factor which Moses brings to navigate through Afcon qualifiers and the main event next year in Morroco which promises to be bigger than any Afcon ever. Best of luck to Moses and hopefully nobody begs him to return because that will be counter productive. As they say. Soldier go, soldier come, barracks remain. 1 Like |

Is Kanu a legend? Many people will rate Kanu as a legend even though his goal return for the National team is poor. The Atlanta 96 triumph as captain is probably the most significant event but it is probably Nigeria's biggest international success simply because of the caliber of teams we beat. So yea, it was an age grade competition but Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Bebeto, Roberto Carlos, Juninho were already super stars. Not forgeting Ortega and Crespo. So the sheer caliber of the teams beaten secured Kanu's legendary status. Through the years, Kanu did not reach those heights with the National team but he provided some great moments. 1 Like |

I agree. Let’s throw away the word legend and put them in classes by grade. It would reduce the argument. Icon4s: |
