Inno what? I have never heard of that school or college. Better you stay with Bow Valley or SAIT Polytechnic.

Thank you so much.

I was also sceptical. I think its a new private institution.

since ur gonna go back after the baby, then don't apply for a health card when you come. Tell the docs you're a self-pay patient and let them bill you as such. That way, you pay your bills when they arrive without it going to your provincial health care.

Depends on what you want. You can bring in whatever food you want, so long as they're not items that contravene customs rules. You can also get almost everything you want locally, but at a price. And no matter how much food you bring in, it will run out at some point. Unless you're popping back to Nigeria regularly to re-stock, at some point you'll have to figure out how to make do with what is available locally.

I guess my suggestion is to bring in as much as you want for the first few weeks or months, while you're adjusting. And after that you can figure out what items you're happy getting locally and what you'd like to stock from Nigeria whenever you have the opportunity.

Some airlines don't like frozen stuff...because on a long flight there is chance it thaws a bit, but I guess if you're able to pack it nicely not to damage anyone else's luggage, you might get away with it. Note meat and poultry products are not allowed in, so if you've got meat or chicken in you stew and/or soup...it's contraband.

Good evening everyone,

Please I have some questions regarding Ethiopian airline booking.
1. I booked on hold. How long will the booking stay?
2. Which is better; transferring to their account or going to pay at a bank?
3. Does anyone have the contact details of Ethiopian Airways?

cc @Akingsqueen and everyone else

1. Book on hold last for 48hrs
2. If you are in Lagos, you can go to their office in VI and lay with your card.
3. Check the website for their Nigerian address. The last time I went to pay (Mid July) I was told all there lines are down and they are trying to fix it, don't know if it's fixed now anyways. You can try sending them a mail.

Only in checked-in luggage. Frozen soups/stews are classified as liquids. I do not think it is a good idea because the bowl is likely going to break and spill stew in your bag when it goes through baggage handling.

Hi vcole, Pls is evaluating part 1 result(family medicine) from National postgraduate medical college useful in practice ready assessment for Alberta?. Thank you so much. I am trying to know certificates to evaluate with MCC regarding practicing or residency. Thank you
No idea. To the best of my knowledge at the moment what Alberta has, is a PPAP quite different from the other PRAs. It is for IMGs who have completed a residency program within or outside Canada of a minimum of 2yrs duration and with specific postings and who have not been out of a post graduate training over the preceeding 3yrs.
I would say evaluate your degree, transcript, all postings in that order.

ABOUT EXPIRED NIGERIAN DRIVER'S LICENSE.

My country people do your best to get your valid naija drivers license before you check out. Mine expired in March this year. I renewed it before I came even got an international drivers license thinking that could serve as my current license. I have been jumping up and down since cuz drive test keeps insisting I must present a current license. If yours will not expire within a week of when you land please respect yourself and bring it like that and go to drive test fast to register so you don't join this jumping dance that's no fun. Una doh!

THIS is for OTTAWA

Hmm. Interesting. What do you mean by current license? My hubby's own expires end of February and we are landing end of January. So you are saying he shouldn't bother renewing or getting a reissue before we leave? He can quickly use it to go for his driving test? Cos some people have suggested the same thing.

yeah the 're issue has the date of issue so it won't be used in the long run plus waste of money. they accept expired ones in Calgary thou according to what I read from vcole months back

My idea: six weeks to expiration of license, apply online for renewal. Select the option of no capturing. Also pick 5 years for good measure. Pau online and go complete the process at FRSC.

Since you're not capturing, they'll neither take away your old licence nor issue you a temporary licence. Instead they'll sign your application paper with which you're expected to drive until your new license Is ready.

Go with your old licence to Canada and use it to get your Canadian license.

In three months, get someone to help pick up your five year Nigerian license so you're still able to drive in Nigeria whenever you visit.

Important information:
vcole:

it is illegal to hold an Alberta license and any other drivers license. Just saying.

A555:

Additional point to note is that when you get your license in Alberta, you sign a document that says you do not have any other licenses, or essentially any way to get another license. So, getting a second license means you've made a false declaration on a legal document.

Quite easy, firstly get your SIN then open an account with a bank cause you need it as proof of address to get your health insurance card. Delivery is totally free as long as you remain in Alberta for the next 6months or so. Then I got my family doctor who recommended a gynecologist for me and who ever you get as your doctor will determine which hospital you actually be having your baby.
You be asked to go for ultrascans and other blood test and results sent to your doctor. From then your doctor will arrange visits it all depends on your due date.
