since ur gonna go back after the baby, then don't apply for a health card when you come. Tell the docs you're a self-pay patient and let them bill you as such. That way, you pay your bills when they arrive without it going to your provincial health care.

My country people do your best to get your valid naija drivers license before you check out. Mine expired in March this year. I renewed it before I came even got an international drivers license thinking that could serve as my current license. I have been jumping up and down since cuz drive test keeps insisting I must present a current license. If yours will not expire within a week of when you land please respect yourself and bring it like that and go to drive test fast to register so you don't join this jumping dance that's no fun. Una doh!

it is illegal to hold an Alberta license and any other drivers license. Just saying.

Additional point to note is that when you get your license in Alberta, you sign a document that says you do not have any other licenses, or essentially any way to get another license. So, getting a second license means you've made a false declaration on a legal document.

Since you're not capturing, they'll neither take away your old licence nor issue you a temporary licence. Instead they'll sign your application paper with which you're expected to drive until your new license Is ready
