Cool this be another Rohr Effect? The entire defence of the SE have moved to better clubs/leagues. Ebuehi - Ado Den Haag to Benfica Idowu - Amker Perm to Lokomotiv Moscow Echiejile - Cercle Brugge to Monaco Balogun - Mainz to Brighton Ekong - Bursaspor to Udinese Omeruo - Kasimpasa to Leganes Aina - Hull to Torino Awaziem - Porto or on his way back to Nantes for another loan. We have never in the history of the SE have so many defenders playing at the top level like the current squad. Could Gernot Rohr have anything to do with it? Special mention to Uduokhai of Wolfsburg and Akpoguma of Hoffeinhem who are still possibilities now that they have been totally over-looked by Germany. Cc Dammy 4 Likes |

ChrisKels: I understand the excitement but please this is not the first time we've had defenders play in modest clubs such as those listed. Onyekachi Apam - Nice Joseph Enakhare-Bordeaux Joseph Yobo-Everton Taye Taiwo - Marseille Chidi Ordiah-Cska Moscow Ifeanyi Udenze/Isaac Okoronkwo- West brom |

ChrisKels:Happy for the boys, just shows that perhaps with a better performance in Russia, they would have gotten bigger clubs with more money but at all, at all naim bad. It also gives credence to the fact that playing for the national team is a big winner any day any time. I wish them all the best along with my support. Sad that musa went to Saudi Arabia, with those beautiful goals in Russia. |

Goke7: I can't begrudge Musa. He was offered life changing money. No European club will offer him that much money. And depending on his true age, this might be the time to cash out before he starts depreciating. 2 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: Never in the history of Nigerian football have we pulled in as much sponsorship. We went to a world cup with no bonus issues. If not for this giwa issue, we would have done a lot more of the field. Best NFF chairman in my lifetime. 9 Likes 1 Share |

tbaba1234: He didn't bring anything new. The sponsors came back. Before his time we were getting sponsors. Even most of our local clubs had shirt sponsorship. Outside the world cup and Chan this NFF has achieved nothing note worthy. Don't even get me started on women's football because that could take all day. |

I watched clips of Awoniyi in yesterday s match...the way he runs into position was extactic...however there were situations he could have buried the ball...clumsiness....he behaved like Jololo [Sadiq Umar] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znZlKXPqAqs |

elyte89: Why wouldn't I be? Football is more than the super eagles. If the other teams are not being taken care of that's not fair. This is almost 4 years and nothing has changed. They got a new coach for the women but that was just eye service, women's football is deteriorating in our country and that never was the case. Anybody can get sponsorships, Aiteo reached out to the NFF it is not like the NFF was the one the got them to become a sponsor. |

tbaba1234: The only thing Pinick brought to the table was resolving super eagles wages. We have always had sponsors whenever the we qualified for world cups. Most companies use ambush marketing to to attach themselves to the Super Eagles during major championships, the last one was no difference. I can list past NFF sponsors and affiliates during world cups. Other national teams were totally neglected during Pinicks regime. We failed to qualify for U17 and U20 AYC and world cups under him. Our female team couldn't qualify for the Olympics under his stewardship. The male U23s were stranded on their way to Brazil resulting in a Japanese guy paying from his pocket to rescue the team, need I say how shameful it is for a proud country like Nigeria to experience such international embarrassment. At the main world cup proper, we equalled our worst world cup record playing some of the most boring football, it was so bad that a fan was caught on camera sleeping while we played Iceland. Add to the fact that we couldn't qualify for the last Afcon and our FIFA ranking has been on a free fall. Pinick haven't taken our football to the next level as far as I'm concerned and I'm ready to defend my points anywhere. 2 Likes |
