BEING AN INTROVERT, MY STORY
Am an introvert, an extreme one. As a girl,being introverted as made me become a better person in life in a way. Am an extremely bookie type, the type that reads 24hours clock. Yea,I have read for 3days non stopping before and still doing it. When i look back,I feel I should have used those period I was reading to be doing business.
But I had a problem,I was foolosh,not understanding the country I am, ""who book help"".After graduation,being the best in my department,and the youngest at age 19years going to 20. I wanted to have my phd by 25,not knowing I was decieving myself.Then I got to understand life isnt fair or maybe people arent. Before going to service,I spent a year at home waiting for NYSC enrollment,after Nysc I took MSC form,before I knew it time had gone,I saw I wouldnt be able to have my Phd at age 25 anymore.I wanted to have my Phd and become a lecturer,I so much loved being a lecturer then. Things changed during my Msc degree,I looked at the young doctors(lecturers) in my school, university of Ibadan, broke,haggard,with fine cars though,being sent an errand by the old proffessors like a house boy. I looked at myself and I was like is this how I will end up my life? Plus in getting a job in federal universities is almost impossible if one doesnt know anyone. Another available option is working in a state university,but the problem there is promotion,they hardly become a professor when thier mates has. I know personally some lecturers who have been doctors since 1978,another since 1995 in state universities. And in federal university its very easy once they are hardworking.And I look at it that it doesnt worth it.I dont want to leave the rest of my life being unhappy.I want to do a job I will be happy progressing due to my hardwork. Then I look at myself am still a broke girl,after all the readings,the hope I had, my passion for books and I hated my condition. I saw some young guys who are making money in business,some on nairaland,then I thought to myself, if I had Used 50% of my time and brain for business in all these years,I wouldnt be this broke,I mightbbe one of the youngest rich enterpreneurs by now,then I started shifting my brain to business,now am a business girl,not bookie.Although I still love academics but I love business the more. One thing I love about being an entrepreneur is that you get your result immediately. The more you are hardworking and Smart,the more money flows in.The more you are calculative,the more you use your brain,the higher money you will see and trust me,its so much fun for me. Unlike books,after all the reading, someone who doesn't will still get a better job because of connection shits and personally I even hate asking people to help me with anything,its so frustrating as an introvert.You will have to call them,smile uneccesirily just because you are trying to be friendly and get helped.
Being an introvert doesnt support business that much,so I try to mingle,no be ghost go patronise me nah.But I still maintain my privacy though but being an introvert shouldnt stop you from making cool cash.I have learnt so much being in business,I have learnt to smile,talk to strangers because my business also involve talking,I try to help others who have been in my shoe and those who werent(am now a business coach). I have learnt to make others smile,I have learnt to help others and not be selfish with my time as I used to be.
Right now am bored because I wish I could go to gym,do my favourite sport e.t.c. but i cant cx i dont like to be where too many people are. Being a business coach also may not be fun sometimes as I would have to talk to people which I actually enjoy but the problem is that some people (especially extroverts) doesn't understand the meaning of Privacy or Don't bug me unnecessarily and will do. But I have learned not to be harsh with anyone so I will just explain to them what I want and what I don't.

Well spoken, I've learnt more from this piece. Time to step out of my shell of being an introvert.

Nice post but I was expecting you to shed more lights on the business aspect of your post. It is not as if introverts can't excel in businesses but how did you get a start up capital and which business did you engage in

Hahaha, if we all spent 50% of our time learning business I guess we could have been better, well that statement is partially true, because once u start making money in school you might get distracted and maybe lose focus, business is not a easy as people say it, it has so many unforseen risk.
Anyways as for the lecturers in the state university, many of them choose to look poor, their salary scale is not as bad as you think.

I started my business with zero naira. Am not saying I have made very big now,but am happy and very very proud of myself.
Not like my parent couldn't give me money or my siblings CX I happened to be the baby of the house, but I wanted to do it on my own.
Please read my post on side hustling,I can't even remember the topic again.

Assistant lecturers earn 77k, which us still very fine,but with the situation in the country,they owe them way too much which will make it difficult for someone who is starting afresh. Imagine when they were owed up to 5months salary,a new lecturer will have to rent an apartment or pay for the rent,fuel his car e.t.c. and they will still do researches to earn them promotion in the work place,some of those publication could cost millions especially if its in relation with the united state
