I made a comment on instagram that kneeling to propose to women is wrong but what followed next amused me. Ladies insulted and cursed me from right to left, some saying kneeling mean respect, some said kneeling means romance or love. Lol!

I can kneel to propose to you today and after we get married I'll turn into a beast at home, so kneeling has nothing to do with respect or being romantic .
Ladies were supporting the stuff as if their life depended on the kneeling but we all know if the reverse was the case they'd have said men are treating women like slaves and blah blah.
Our fathers didn't kneel to propose to women, I myself didn't kneel and my son won't.

Real men don't kneel to propose to women!

Nigerian women only like to copy western stuffs when it favours them. They want to copy chivalry and kneeling during proposal but they are afraid of sharing responsibilities like western women do.

Let's live.

Marriage is two in agreement. One party kneeling down either Male or Female to propose is unfair and it's nothing but begging to marry the other person.

It's not about pride. It's about two people agreeing to spend their rest of their lives together not one party begging the other to do so

I am no feminist, at least not for now, about the former, its actually not my dream for my man to kneel and propose, I see no need for it, given to the fact that I see engagement as one of those frivolous acts people engage in. Why waste time proposing when you can use such time to pay her brideprice? time is of the essence to be engaging in frivolous activities, nevertheless, I wouldn't I want any man to make me lord of the rings.

My man have actually said something akin to engagement, I told him plainly that I am not willing to wear any ring that is not a wedding ring.

To me a man kneeling down to propose is a sign of compromise, which is what marriage is about. It takes gust to put your precious ego aside and ask for someone to invade your space, to be a part of your life for the rest of your life, to take you as you are without knowing whether she will accept or reject.
