All your points are so real and valid. I had a faulter in this and many more and eventually we went our separate ways. I feel more better now and more productive only that I had to start all over with my kids. It was worth the RUN.

I initially intended to morally attack the opinion that drug addicts tend to enjoy their money and that you consider them better off.

It is not okay to use enjoyment as a criterion for comparing them because they both enjoy their money.
A drug addict derives pleasure from intake of drugs while a gambler derives pleasure from gambling. So they both enjoy.
