charlesemeka85:I think with the availability of Balogun, Ekong,Omeruo and Awaziem. I don't see any reason for Uduokhai and Akpoguma who are not ready to play for us. The FB like Dresser,Deji etc who really want to play for Nigeria should be considered. 3 Likes |

Kog45: Spot on. I am particular about those young strikers, this is the time we want to start seeing them. We didn't progress beyond the group stage in Russia because we didn't go with strikers. We need to start building a new attacking force from now. 1 Like |

andrew444: In the context of African football please l stand to be corrected but the Egyptian league is possibly the best in Egypt. In this regard also considering the considerable financial muscle of this club. It is high flying in the context of African football. The reality is Osimhen has not played up to 120 minutes of Bundesliga football. That's in two seasons. He us not a current outstanding talent. He couldn't even get into Brugge he failed the trial. Are these the attributes of outstanding talent. |

Icon4s: It's not guaranteed AT ALL. Do you know the quality in Arsenal U23 the intense competition and then consider the young international players coming on trial from Brazil, France, Spain and Argentina. When I say to some people that some of these boys will struggle in English non league. Some of you start to spit fire and brimstone from your mouths. 90% of English players including Nigerian origin or not will rather play non league than go to Sporting Lisbon B team. In a non league club some may pay you £3k a month not all some. In Portugal some B players are on €1200 a month. And there is no guarantee of making it. However, After struggling in non league you may find yourself if you do well in the Championship and then the EPL. There are many examples. |

Icon4s: Chuba has had multiple opportunities but has failed to impress. He was a baller at youth level but could not make the transition to first team football. Now he is in Greece trying to salvage his career or what is left of it. There are better strikers in non-league than him at the moment. But they don't get the opportunities but when they do. They get noticed and rise rapidly. Ademola Lookman was playing Sunday football not even non league when Chuba was making waves at Arsenal youth team. The next Thierry Henry etc. |

ChrisKels: O boy you harsh o. The guy has dreams of playing for his fatherland having had a taste of it and he is doing what he can to make his dream happen. It may or may not come to fruition. But to blast him like that is wrong. This is why some players choose not to play for Nigeria at all. 2 Likes |

But during last season bundesliga osimhen played 300 minutes in total,he even made 1 start The boy is down at the moment but why trying to also bring him down here ? Not suprised by you,Number 1 bad belle to naija players who are not U.K. Brought up 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello everyone, Does anyone know when Rohr will release his list of 23 players for AFCON 19 Qualifiers. I am so much interested in the list as it will speak volume and more on the Man-Rohr. It will tell/show us where we are heading to. |

komekn: You don't need to make it to the championship, just excel in the cup games. In August, Dele Alli played for MK Dons when they beat United 4-0, in February, he was already in the Premier league with Tottenham. Consequently, I don't understand, people, why Anthony Nwaekeme or Fanendo Adi are being snubbed, by stats they are our most prolific strikers and are very experienced. |

in the central defence position the team needs more players to have a large pool to pick from and also add more competition to the position. balogun is 30 already so it will be ideal getting 1 or 2 younger cb as his replacement when he retires. also they are yet to voice out that they wish to stick with the german national team so we still have a chance getting any of them Kog45: |

AIG07: I won't b surprise cin 95percent of those who represented us at d worldcup...and if u ask me,it's a good decision...we can't just ease out 40percent of d players like DT,it could unbalance d team,2 to 3 players change effect from d worldcup list is ok.den from dere d coach can start phasing out d ones not fit for us 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by AIG07: 12:57pm On Aug 22, 2018 |
elyte89:Akpeyi Ebuehi (presently injured) Echiejile Joel V. Moses (retiree) and Ighalo. I don't think replacing this 6players will unsettle the team. If my calculation is right, That's less than 30% including Ebuehi a potential returnee and V. MOSES an already retired player. Excluding these 2, will bring the numbers down to 4 which is well below 20% and I think it is fair enough and the way to go if we are truly serious... Of what use will it be if we continue with the above players bar Ebuehi... What do they still have that we haven't seen? Is it Akpeyi a 30year old third choice NT Gk? Echiejile a pensioneer? Joel, a player who has failed repeatedly to come to party? Victor Moses a retiree who is gone for good? Or Ighalo? Don't forget we don't have to much time to prepare for AFCON 19. We must qualify and at the same time have a good showing in the biennial event. 1 Like |

charlesemeka85: Who are the young defenders that is willing to play for nigeria that we have now? Yes we need young defenders who are good. I am only concerned about balogun because he is injure prone, forger about being 30......A 33 old thiago and miranda was a delight to watch at the world cup despite them crashing out against belgium at the quarter finals.....Brazil just named their squad and thiago silva is still there. We gonna use that we have,we cant force those that dont wanna play for us to play for us 1 Like |
