Amakababe:Dear Sir, it is obvious you have little or no knowledge about P.E/Human Kinetics or Jumpology as you've said. Kindly do a few research and see for yourself. You narrowly believed that anybody that studied P.E will end up in class room teaching. You're damn wrong because that's not the case. I am a P.E Specialist making over 500k per month at my own convenience. The sport world has greatly evolved & still evolving in this part of the world which makes it a huge and untapped business. I do not believe it's about courses, but the individual studying that course. Jumpology, as you called it, is a multibillion dollar industry. Get your facts right before you comment. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

I don't even see a reason this thread should make the front page. Errors like this have shattered many dreams today with many parents still forcing kids to study science courses. Sometimes I just don't understand the insatiable lust for science yet Nigeria is not even close to being a science-oriented nation. Parents made simple things look complex. I bet a lot of students didn't know they could actually enrol for ICAN, and majority of the professional courses today those days they were sitting idle with SSCE whilst waiting for JAMB. Imagine having your ICAN with at least 5 professional qualifications before your 20th birthday? Of course it is possible, but many parents dont know! The cascading lusts for ignorance and shallowness coupled with the negative influence of parents turned a lot of graduates to pensioners even before entering the labour market. Some parents didn't finish school until they turned 30 years. This same parent will still claim to know more than the younger generations in this age where even a 27 year old will work hard to get a graduate trainee job. 1 Like 1 Share |

Amakababe: What is in medicine and law? With my Mathematics and Physics degree, I make a lot of money working for an auditing firm. Many of my lawyer friends don't even practise. I know of about two who worked in chambers and earned about 20K per month. They have since left and now depend on sport betting. The truth is (without connection), law and medicine are overrated in Nigeria. They are just like every other courses. Even nursing is rated better than medicine when it comes to employment rate. Do you even know how difficult it is to make it as a doctor in Nigeria? I have worked as a data analyst and I can authoritatively tell you that at a time, there were more medicine graduates travelling abroad than any other graduates. Human kinetics is not a bad course. There are a variety of job opportunities for a graduate of human kinetics. |

Amakababe:Op. I agree with you. I am an advocate of doing and being part of the best in life. Though, education does not necessarily guarantee wealth and success in life, but then that doesn't mean that one should be part of courses that does not offer reasonable opportunities for success. Majority of those that did the courses you detest are somehow not happy doing the courses but because they probably have no alternative or simply ignorance of the career prospects. |

Most of Nigerian children just want to enter the university for any unrelated courses just to acquire university degree at the end of the day their unrelated courses will fetch them no job and end them up as okada riders or local food sellers. Unfortunately the Nigerian educational system is geared towards a particular goal that is why I always refer to Nigerian Universities as glorified secondary schools and that is why most the so call degree holders are jobless. Recall, after the second world war of 1945, South Korea, a country with vision decleared that intake into their universities must be 85% science and technology and 15% intake in Korean art and culture and they say they don't need lawyers and we all vv 2 Likes 1 Share |

Pray that your children won't come to Facebook to sell wigs and handbags at affordable prices after 4 years in the university. What nonsense Op na mumu ahswearugad But our parents aren't doing right though. Dad hated my career choice (not what i read in school). He wanted to be the father of a doctor, engineer or lawyer. When I was still living with them, he'll come to my room see me doing my thing and insult me, sigh and bang the door behind him. I moved out before NYSC. Things got better. Visited him the other day, gave him big sum of money, he started crying loool. Saying he never thought it'll be like this, that a 23 year old doing this for him now. Reminded him of old times. If pops have the opportunity of having another son, he'll let him do whatever he wants. 1 Like 1 Share |

Likewise Cuba, the country has the largest medical personnel per population. : |
