Bad Move....... Belgium ke?! He should have joined a Club in Division 2 of the Spanish League!

Spanish Division 2 League is better than the Belgian League where Awoniyi is playing presently, where Onyekuru, Simon and Kalu were made, and greater than the English Championship where Etebo is presently plying his Trade.

The bolded is changed to equivalent....otherwise you are correct...its a good move...Osimhen has come here to develop like those you mentioned...your sarcasm though

It's so annoying sometimes we tend to downgrade some Leagues to appreciate certain Players move to second Division Clubs!

I remembers some Dudes celebrated Etebo move to Stoke City. They claimed he's gonna filled up the Vacuum created by the departure of Shaqiri to Liverpool, however same Etebo is sipping Lucozade Boost on the Bench Week in Week out.

Can Elche ever qualify for UCL or UEL?! No matter how good the Division is; it's still a Poor move for a Player to move down to a lower Division.

Aina had offers in the Championship, but he opted for a Serie A Club, that's kind of News we should be appreciating and celebrating!

Sincere was given a chance to perform...he grabbed it...Musa was also given....he flopped...all in the same Turkish league by mid-tier clubs

Sincere moved up from B team to A team...that is progress...Musa left for Bosnia...globetrotting...

Sincere has grown Musa ...fact...Sincere has become more visible by virtue of his club s game...where is Musa?

Pardon @forgiveness if he thinks that Musa or his agent gives bribe for him to be invited with current form...
Some people still see Musa with u17 mind....

Elche is in the second division. Deportivo La Coruna is also in the second division. So, where is the poor move in Uzoho's proposed loan deal? undecided

This ain't about Uzoho imminent Move per se, it's about the Mediocrity we do celebrate on this Thread most time. Besides Deportivo played in La Liga last Season.

How can we be celebrating such kinda move to the extent of berating the first Division Leagues of certain Countries?! Didn't Etebo move to a lower League, yet it was celebrated on this Thread.

The same Belgian League that was condemned by a Moniker and earned Approvals through Likes, is the same League Osimhen will be plying his Trade this Season same as Taiwo.

So is Osimhen Move a wrong one? Don't you think he should have preferred a Move to a Spanish Second Division?!

Seems we can create some kind of report card with categories so we can list players in different levels of club levels and those we can class in the red flag zone.

we will take their playing stats and their club relevance and identity and use it to model a general scoreboard for most of our players playing in different leagues. their moves from club to club and trophies etc. what dyu think?

On loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has been called up to the senior national team of Nigeria by coach Gernot Rohr ahead of their upcoming AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Seychelles.

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the 20 year old who is presently on loan to the B team of Portuguese side FC Porto is among the list of players which will be officially unveiled by the coach tomorrow.

Nwakali has played two games for Porto B this season and mixed reactions has trailed his performance. He is however in the team on the strength of his showing against Atletico Madrid in a friendly game before the World Cup in Russia which the B team of Nigeria lost 2-3.

He posted a man of the match performance with his opening goal as the major highlight of his all round brilliant performance during the game, and Rohr has decided to call him up to the main team.

Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria John Obi Mikel has been ruled out of the game but the invitation of Nwakali is not connected to his absence, Owngoalnigeria.com reliably gathered.

Even Nigerian players have found stepping stones in this league: Daniel Amokachi, Sunday Oliseh, Joseph Yobo, Peter Odemwingie, Victor Ikpeba.

Speaking of Second Divisions, the second tier with the best development of young players is Netherlands Erste Divisie.

Official: KweseESPN reports that Rohr have excused Mikel Obi from the Seychelles game. This means we won't be expecting his name to appear in Friday's team list release.

His recent return from injury was cited even though he has played one game since his return. Maybe Rohr wanna grant his request to return to full fitness and build on his game time having just returned.

SUPER Eagles skipper Mikel Obi has pulled out of Nigeria's forthcoming African Nations Cup qualifier against Seychelles just a day before head coach Gernot Rohr is due to announce his list on invitees that is expected to include new faces Samuel Kalu and Mohammed Musa.

On September 7, Nigeria is due to face Seychelles away in the capital Victoria but reeling from a combination of injuries and retirement from international football, Rohr has to come up with a squad list. Chelsea wingback Victor Moses has announced he is quitting the national team and Mikel called the manager to excuse himself from the crucial game, citing the fact that he had not fully regained the required fitness level needed to play in such a match.

Also, fullbacks Tyronne Ebuehi and Shehu Abdullahi are injured, so Rohr is said to be considering calling up former Golden Eaglets skipper Mohammed Musa to compete for that position. New Bordeaux signing Samuel Kalu, Torino loanee Ola Aina, Galatasaray's Henry Onyekuru and Hibernian centreback Efe Ambrose, are all also said to be under consideration for call-ups.

Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) officials have confirmed that Rohr will release his list of invited players tomorrow. According to reports in Sporting Life and The Nation, Mikel is said to have also rang the NFF president Amaju Pinnick, to inform him about the fact that he is just returning from injury and as such would not be fit enough to prosecute the Seychelles game.

Having lost their opening qualifier to South Africa at home to Uyo, the Eagles now have to step up their game over the forthcoming matches to make the Nations Cup. After playing Seychelles next month, the team will face Libya home and away on October 10 and 13 before flying to South Africa for the return against the Bafana Bafana on November 17 and then hosting Seychelles on March 22, 2019.

According to NFF sources, Rohr will respect Victor Moses' decision to retire from international football for now although he looks to convince the player to return to the fold for future games. For the Seychelles match, Levante new boy Moses Simon Samuel Kalu are being considered as starters in place of Moses.

Uhmmm... If you look at his manner of reply, you will only realise he was being sarcastic.

At bolded, you partly speak a truth some don't know yet. It is indeed one of the very best second divisions for young player devt all round and the best technically. Even Holland's Frenkie De Jong being chased by Barca now was nurtured in Holland's Second division, the erste divisie. Many more talents abound at that level and K.Nwakali went there and did decently enough to still get mentioned among top youngsters with promise by Marca and even Goal. Talent never hides.

Is that not the substance of what I am saying.

Then why are we inviting players on the basis of past youthful glories to the SE. That's my issue.

The only basis for selection should be consistent, outstanding, quality performances in your club and league.

With exceptions based on quality of league and or club taken into consideration all things being equal.

Finally, I have mentioned Chuba Akpom upteen times as being below the mark, no be today.

You don't need to make it to the championship, just excel in the cup games. In August, Dele Alli played for MK Dons when they beat United 4-0, in February, he was already in the Premier league with Tottenham.

Consequently, I don't understand, people, why Anthony Nwaekeme or Fanendo Adi are being snubbed, by stats they are our most prolific strikers and are very experienced.

The quality of league and club you play for has a bearing on your quality.

If you are in a lower league and or club then you should be without debate the most outstanding player in that league or at least top 3.

Is Nwaekeme and Adi the most outstanding players in thier leagues. Add to that the Isreal league is not highly rated.

Last time we discussed "Classes and levels" of our players abroad, some didn't like the idea and I understand why.

But monitoring them, documenting their stats, playing time and level of competition is well... Uhmmm.. okay to me. But that'll take some time to put together and right now, Man dey hooked... Loool. But hey, Dave maybe you can take the lead and give us a small scale showing of what you have in mind exactly. You can start with one to five players.

Despite my schedule, I still document our players' current clubs, moves, and follow up on their stats and progress. Personal thing I guess.. wink

Because it is only you who feels he has done nothing. He has proven he can fight for a spot by making a number of appearances in the bundesliga and he showed his quality in a number of friendlies during the season.

What you have described does not equate to outstanding quality.

It equates to FAILURE if you at 20 years old and two seasons at a club can only boast of a handful of appearances. And after your appearances you were essentially sent back to the youth team.

What does that say in your football dictionary ❓ progress and outstanding quality.

Football has moved on exceptional young players get to play in the first team. When you are in a smaller club, it should translate to more opportunity. But that's not the case here.

I am using a universal standard for player assessment not one tailored to one individual.

From FAILURE and the acceptance of it, is SUCCESS Birthed. He needs to assess his progress and look at his development with a truthful critical eye. And decide maybe I should drop a division or two and work.my may up.

It's better to be playing in a smaller league and making waves, indeed your moving upwards than being anonymous and not playing in a bigger club and league.

He needs to prove himself beyond youth football.

uzoho's case is different here because at the period the team was in serious need for a goal minder who will replace ikeme when he was diagnosed of cancer. the likes of akpeyi and ezenwa were tried but both weren't convincing enough before uzoho came to the scene. uzoho had the edge over the aforementioned goal keepers because at the time he has been tested in one of the biggest leagues at the tender age of 19 and was seen by rohr and his coaching crew as the long time remedy to the national team goalkeeping problems because of his young age.

playing in the laliga at such age was attractive enough for him to be given a chance and when he got an invite to the national team though very raw the coaching crew and goalkeepers trainers saw real potentials in him. in uzoho, the team currently have a goal minder who will play for the next 10 years or more if he remains dedicated and fit.

days are gone when the national team lacked decent right back so the issue of inviting a player whose importance will be minimal is a waste of space/slot in the team. if he was a left back the case would have been different and having him in the team will be of great importance because of the team's lack of a decent left back. mind you i am not writing him off but he needs to show better quality than what the team have currently, play in a better team where he will have a chance to compete for a starters shirt with better players then he will definitely
get a look in

it will be a good thing to have lot of options in every position of the team but on the process we have to look out for quality players rather than mediocres who are yet to distinguish their selves in decent clubs and leagues. the likes of monchenglabach's mandela egbo and Pec zwole's ehizibue are decent younger talents who are showing a lot of promise in their respective teams. danjuma who signed for club brugge and have been an instant hit can be deployed as a rightback as well.

On Uzoho proposed move to Elche

This just came in on Twitter... (Roughly translated)

@passionfjv (Passion Franjiverde): "El Elche CF no fichará a Francis Uzoho. El Deportivo pretende que el guardameta tenga minutos y actualmente en el conjunto ilicitano José Juan cuenta con la confianza de Pacheta."

"Elche CF will not sign Francis Uzoho. Deportivo wants the goalkeeper to have minutes and currently in the squad, José Juan has the confidence of Pacheta."

The @Passionfjv Twitter handle is a website handle dedicated to the Elche soccer club and its fans. Instagram: PasionFranjiverde Facebook: Passion Franjiverde

Well, if this is the current situation, then it means Uzoho may just be stuck at Deportivo for now unless something dramatic happens before the end of the window.

Everyone is a diamond in the rough, till you unearth them.
You don't have to be the best in a lower league to make an ascension.

Last year, Mattéo Guendouzi was shielding his defense against Ajaccio, this past week he prevented Hazard of Chelsea from a counter.
Richarlison in 2016 was attacking against Flamengo, in 2017 he was debuting against Liverpool.
In 2016, Ndidi was scoring against Club Brugge, in 2017 he was tackling Liverpool players.

The highlight of these players is that they were good players but not necessarily pick of the bunch till they were unleashed. When England and Manchester United let Zaha go, he wasn't an outstanding player till Ivory Coast and Crystal Palace let him express himself.

Now Anthony and Fanendo aren't the best players or top 3 in their leagues, but they are promising and more importantly tick boxes which the national team is deficient of. If you have given other strikers a chance without result , there is no crime in giving these newbies a platform, brother.

Belgium and Holland, are easily the best leagues for youth. All Belgian clubs sign players below 23 years so as to profit on them, a league for young talents to express.

I appreciate the backing, but I saw no sarcasm in that statement, mate.
