Did you know that the Mali squad that played against us in the 2015 U17 final, individually, have made more progress than our players?

Top of the list is Ahmadu Haidara who was a champs league starter last season with RB Salzburg. But funny enough that great goalkeeper of theirs that won the golden glory ahead of Akpan Udoh, hasn't made much progress as he still plays in the Malian league.

Youth football funny sha oo

Not all players can be invited. We get those that we can get, especially those that can add value to the team.

goalkeepers find it more difficult to progress than other players.

An African goalkeeper particularly, rarely makes it to the top leagues

But Cameroun defies that second paragraph of urs. Check their record. I wonder how they do it. Imagine, young Onana being Ajax's numero uno. Latest news even has it that he is wanted by Marseille before the window closes. As much as I berate Ondoa, he has also proven that young African goalkeepers can take that giant step, and he is another Cameroonian.

When it comes to goalkeeping on the continent, Cameroon have a rich history of fine shot stoppers who will always make their ways into Europe. Behind Cameroon is Nigeria but History shows that Cameroon clearly bosses the Goalie Dept on the continent.

AS Trencin will be in action in the UEFA Europa league Final playoffs in a couple of hours or less and Three Nigerians start for them (as usual).

Reuben Yem as RB, Abdul Musa Zubairu as CDM, Phillip Azango Alayo as LW.

Forward, Emeka Umeh is on the bench for Them.

This Trencin has been favourable to Nigerian footballers...and they play good football..

I know many of you guys havent watch him play, maybe just because he is whited skinned he should be invited right?

Why dont you wait hannover should give him game time before he should be invited?

A player that has played only 11 games since 2016 you want to be invited to the national team?

I am sure if that guy is pure black like musa and co,you will not call for his invitation

As far as i am concerned he has done nothing to merit invitation,he should proove his fitness first

Agreed without reservation, tribalism or favoritism.

Oga, calm down.

The man was injured in 2016. He has been in good form in pre season and will play many more games this year.

I would not be surprised if he is handed a call.

And what is "pure black"? Some have also advocated for the recall of Isaac Success based on a decent pre season.

The basis of any call up should ALWAYS be Continous, Consistent, Outstanding performances in your club and league.

Not speculative assumption from pre season.

You should go to Manchester City Liverpool, Everton and Man U academies. Naija origin plenty from age 5 years old upwards.

What you have described does not equate to outstanding quality.

It equates to FAILURE if you at 20 years old and two seasons at a club can only boast of a handful of appearances. And after your appearances you were essentially sent back to the youth team.

What does that say in your football dictionary ❓ progress and outstanding quality.

Football has moved on exceptional young players get to play in the first team. When you are in a smaller club, it should translate to more opportunity. But that's not the case here.

I am using a universal standard for player assessment not one tailored to one individual.

From FAILURE and the acceptance of it, is SUCCESS Birthed. He needs to assess his progress and look at his development with a truthful critical eye. And decide maybe I should drop a division or two and work.my may up.

It's better to be playing in a smaller league and making waves, indeed your moving upwards than being anonymous and not playing in a bigger club and league.

He needs to prove himself beyond youth football.

When was Victor Osimhen ever sent to a youth team? Sorry but u have no idea what u are talking about. Countless times we see managers decide whether a player should go on loan or stay and work with the squad. There is no universal recipe for making a player so your universal standard does not hold water.

Who are our additional CREATIVE ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS bar those that went to w/c?

Eze of QPR seems sleek but untested..i watched him against Bristol City...he ball carriage was good but his team was trash?
Nwakali needs some tough games to be straightened up...Any mature AM in top league?

Musa Yahaha.....hmmmmmmm Porto B..the guy should change club next season undecided

The number one for me is Tega Onomah, there are other potential players like Eze, Oviemuno, Bobby, etc

Please sing with Peter Tosh.....Let Jah be praised....let Jah be praised....let Jah be praised

Great things are happenning to our players this season..
Personally, Spanish 2nd division is equivalent to French and Belgium leagues, and greater than English Championship in terms of technique

I would disagree with that completely, I have watched Spanish 2nd division. Indeed had some involvement with Cadiz Fc.

Just like La Liga you don't have wide spread competition. Take away Barca and Real and there isn't much competition. Add Athletico one or two others and there is big gulf between the rest.

Go to 2nd division and the Gulf is even more these ate clubs that cam pay players 2/3k Euro a month.

Bearing that in mind I would say there is MORE COMPETITION between clubs in the EPL as well as the Championship.

In this regard tell me one team in the Spanish 2nd division that will beat Wolves Or Fulham

Belgium and French league are FAR ABOVE Spanish 2nd Division.

I will equate Spanish 2nd division below Bundesliga 2 as well as French league 2.

In my biased opinion it on par with English league 1 or lower.

Your choice of words shows that you feel usurped, do you have an hierarchy on the Internet?

It's all fleeting text, why taking it so personal, brother?

Okay today it is KAA Gent Vs Girondins Bordeaux... In th UEFA Europa league Final Playoffs 1st leg.

Taiwo Awoniyi starts for Gent as their top 9 while Samuel Kalu will start from the bench.

That Jonathan David always replacing Awoniyi and scoring is on the bench as usual for Gent too... Wicked little man. Lol.

Azango, Yem, Zubairu and Trencin just finished playing out a 1-1 draw at home to AEK Larnaca. They have a tough second leg to navigate in Cyprus.

Zubairu played 84 mins while the other two played all 90. Emeka Umeh didn't feature off the bench.
