I'm about to put my 2002 225-hp, 3.2-liter V-6 acura on uber. Bad idea?
oluwaseunla:

Its oil life counter. Like someone already advised, your car may be due for oil and filter replacement. Only works if the oil light is reset at every service.

Curiously, you drive a 2.4l engine on Uber? Wow! You are the man.

Give it a try. And decide... All types of cars can earn u money on both app. Only that some cars generates higher profit margin than the others and less expenses. Lobatan!

Eg, if my corolla fetches me avg 5k per day, ur acura may fetch you 2k per day. The choice is urs.

And instead of sitting ur car at home. U can just invest it to bring in something and not massive or passive income like so many investors assume

If you are driving yourself, maybe not. If you are to give it out, very bad idea.

Good idea instead of having it sit idle at home. You can give it to a driver to drive and give you returns. But the return may be 5k to 10k per week. It is still better than nothing

Very bad idea. You will make a little cash for sure, but maintenance costs will wipe out your 'gains' and also dent your pocket. Lower arms, ball joints, shocks, tires. . . .

Office Location: 3-9 Olu Koleosho Street, Off Medical Road, Ikeja, Lagos

WHY DOES YOUR CAR NEED MYMOTO TRACKER

(1) Security: While anti-theft systems like push-buttons before car start, gear lock, pedal locks etc… are good, ONLY A TRACKING SYSTEM LIKE OURS ALLOWS YOU TO RECOVER (AND ALSO PROTECT) YOUR VEHICLE IF YOUR CAR IS HIJACKED FROM YOU WHILE DRIVING. Our trackers are both anti-theft and recovery in nature. e.g. You should shutdown your car before you sleep at night or park in a public space. Whenever you need to start the car, you enable it also.

(2) Remote Monitoring: GPS Security trackers allows you to monitor your vehicle location remotely from your phone. You are able to view your car’s location in real time (from our IOS/ANDROID APPS).

(3) Vehicle History: Through our online platform (IOS/ANDROID APPS) , you can view where your car had been between DAY X and DAY Y. A plot is shown on a map showing your car’s movement over this period of time.

(4) Remotely Stop Your Car: With our security GPS tracker, you are able to stop your car from ANY PHONE with an sms command. This function can also be carried out through our online platforms.

(5) Geo-Fencing Alarm:If your car goes beyond set a radius (or multi-point), say Lagos, you will be notified by sms.

(6) Other alarms (Over-speed Alarm, Ignition On Alarm, Low Battery Alarm ): Over-speed alarms notifies you via sms when your car goes beyond a particular speed. Ignition on notifies you WHENEVER your car is started. Low Battery Alarm lets you know when your car battery is low.

(7) Daily Mileage report (online platform): Daily mileage report shows you a daily chart (in KM) of your car.

We have heard of one or two expereience of how clients were able to recover their vehicles BECAUSE THEY HAD A TRACKER INSTALLED IN IT. We will be sharing some of them with you based on TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCES.

If you have had personal experiences also, kindly share with us.

WE STILL INSTALL THE MOST AFFORDABLE TRACKERS AROUND STARTING FROM 25K (VARIES WITH CAR MODEL).

YOU'VE SPENT QUITE MUCH TO ACQUIRE YOUR CAR, SECURE IT WITH A TRACKER. BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

I am having a very good day I must say.
Today of all days that I woke up feeling excited to work and even dreamt that I met someone that gave me good luck. Not knowing this would happen as early as 7am. The idiot was busy dragging the road with me.
I don't know how Nigerian drivers behave, they believe they must drag road with you, increase their speed once you signal to turn. Even the Uber drivers do that a lot.
This is what I have been battling with since 7am. The idiot gave only 7k after everything.
My number plate stolen right on the road, will have to go through the stress of police report, affidavit, getting another one. That is the bumper under the vehicle.
Sigh

Many riders don't know how the app works but look down on you when you try to educate them on how to use. They believe drivers are low class people not knowing that it's conditions that made many to drive.
There was one rider that chose a bus stop as her pickup location, called her when I got to the location only for her telling me to ask around for a certain hotel (they believe everyone is like them that knows all hotels around). Took my time to explain to her that she only need to let the GPS pick her location then set destination. Only for her to repeat the same thing.
Back to the one that told me to ask around for a certain hotel, she ask for a landmark around so that she can direct me. Naugthy me used a school as a landmark cos I know people like that won't know places like that except hotel, bars, eateries...

You have your blame too. If someone is dragging road with you, see them as a crazy person, and let them go. This happens constantly to me, I just take a deep breath and let them go. I just say to myself silently "abeg carry your wahala go". Learn emotional intelligence.

Taxify gave me 15 trips reactivation bonus + Uber's 17 trips left.
I was already dreaming of how I get 10k bonus from both app.
Anyway, I can still make 16 trips on Uber but 5 trips on taxify is what I am not sure of. I hope to get both.
Thanks insurance will take it up.
I was lucky that the bumper is made of rubber, no cracks on it with the was it was folded.
It's even the loss of my number plate that is stressful
