TheSuperNerd: No bro, I am all for an improved super Eagles team. By so doing I compare dem with their African counterparts and at the same time school some mofos who know nothing about other African teams hence belittling them while trynna over rate our team. I am an ardent follower of not just the super eagles but African football |

andrew444: Boateng is a young player naa.. I believe he is like 21 or 22 now. Showing such quality against the big guns is something and a big deal. He made his debut for Ghana and guess what, he scored on his debut. Lad is good. Anyway, Dad Icon4s.... I think you can see that he was being darn serious. Andrew dey vex... Lol

Icon4s: No be me u go use Ngwa sense follow, u no reach. Ebere is an AM, same role Etebo plays for us, so the argument lies btwn Etebo and Ebere not Iwobi, Onyekuru neither is Kalu. Now as an AM is Etebo as good as Ebere? The answer is NO. Finito |

edi287: Put Ighalo in Leicester City today, he would not start ahead of Nacho. It is just here you people can hide under proven over and over. Ighalo has not had better top performances, finishers or brilliant play than Nacho. Ighalo plays because he suits when our team resorts to conservative, negative football. If we want to play in an offensive, creative, explosive manner, Ighalo will not come close. If we are going against a side with creative, defensive holding play which most top teams utilize, a player like Ighalo becomes a liability. He lacks the creativity to drop deep and create for the wingers which is why he hardly has assists. 4 Likes |

I love and follow African Football too even though a die hard Super Eagles fan and enthusiast, I am. It is always a Joy seeing African talents sprout up from all over the continent and making progress in Europe and ofcos seeing that our own are not left out of the beautiful story. I get your drift shaa. I too want a constantly improving and positively evolving Super Eagles team. I hope we can realise most if not all of our potentials as a team and football nation. It is well. edi287: Ighalo looked better because the Argentines were pushing for a goal to keep them in the competition. With a more lethal forward and the chances we created, we would have ripped the Argentines to shred. No disrespect to Ighalo but with the amount of creative, pacy, mobile forwards we are having, Ighalo will be a draw back to our tempo, unless Rohr still wants us playing in a boring manner. Humility017: Ighalo: a no, no for me Joel Obi: wonder his function in the team. Onazi: Except rohr is marketing abdominal obesity, I don't understand his continual inclusion Iheanacho: this guy is increasing his reputation as a scam in our Senior team. I guess rohr just likes him. I'm sure in a nation of over 170M, we have way better guys KC Nwakali: I still think his call-up was rushed. Let's see what he has to offer. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:Ighalo would easily fit in at Leicester. Have you forgotten he was superb for Watford at the championship and his first season in the epl at Watford?? He had a poor season when Watford switched to a 4-3-3 with Mazzari playing him outwide at times. His pairing with Deeney was great - imagine what he'd do with someone like Vardy upfront? I don't even think Watford had more creative players than the current Leicester side 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by edi287: 8:24pm On Aug 24, 2018 |
TheGoodJoe:Unless I'm missing something, but wasn't Ighalo brought in at half time when we were 1-0 down?? He held the ball better than Nacho. Yes he's not a great finisher like Nacho but he has better hold up play, is far more skillful and is just as mobile or maybe even more. If you're going to play the likes of Musa and Onyekuru outwide, Ighalo makes even more sense. We've done this Nacho as a 9 thing against Algeria and SA. It didn't work out. 1 Like |

I can actually tolerate Ighalo but inviting Joel Obi and Onazi back to the squad is madness. Also with Mikel's absence I would like to see more of Iwobi at the AM position. 1 Like |
