I think he might have been attacked by his conscience that he has been hating this government for soo long for no reason. You know the situation where the truth steers you in the face and you have been denying it for so long, that this keep suppressing the hatred until liberation. He can now see and from his comment today, he is developing a soft pulse for Buhari.

So which are you now?
I supports who wants to give a better Nigeria. I stand by my country and not the President. So am not a BMC member.

Good development, if it could be extended to the disabled, it would be greatly impactful, my friends in developed countries tell me how their beggars even benefit from such schemes designed by their government so Nigeria shouldn't be any different.

The 5,000 stipend will also remind Mama Piss the cantankerous illiterate grammarian megalomaniac that she, her husband and their gang of 40 thieves lead by the puff-puff cheeked world bank fraudster Okonjo-Iwealla are the devil that the Bible was/is talking about and they will soon join their father the devil in hell

APC is smart, as much as i hate this political Party and their wicked ideologies, they have proven in so many ways that they know how to play the grassroot politics very well.

Just like stalin of russia made an example of plucking a chickens hairs and seeing it suffer, then offer the same chicken grains and the chicken would follow you for life, stalin mentioned in his own words “This is the way to rule the people. Did you see how that chicken followed me for food, even though I had caused it such torture? People are like that chicken. If you inflict inordinate pain on them they will follow you for food the rest of their lives.”

Thats what the government is doing, the day i read about the TraderMoni initiative where they give out 10,000 naira to businesses, then adding it with these 5000 naira they dole out, and then the Npower that majority of youths today struggle for, then you would clearly see the stalin expereiment being done on Nigerians.

The truth is that these poor people in the society would never want a change of status quo, you would even be suprised that communities that were hit by fulani herdsmen attack which they blamed the government would now be willing to re-elect the same government they accused of not coming to their aid when they hit by the herdsmen terror.

Npower, Tradermoni, 5000 naira would not drag out of poverty Nigerians who recieve them, but it would sure ensure that APC retains the centre in next year elections

You are so not smart.

This should be done across the 36 States.

Let both the old and aged people benefit from the scheme.

Thank You Sai Baba.

Yes it is covering all states and not based on any party affiliation i am told....

The APC social investment scheme: Vote buying? Propaganda? Too small a cash? Misplaced priority? More Jobs should be created instead?

I really do not know how you see this first ever social investment scheme that is to run for 2 years under APC after over 20 years. I really do not. I can only tell you how I see it while you are entitled to your own perspective and opinion.

I see old and feeble folks whose financial burden is being lifted a bit though not entirely. I see old folks who have never been catered for by any Nigeria government in the past 20 years, getting their first social package as aged citizens of Nigeria. I see old folks who might not have worked in a government institution and not enjoying retirement benefits, getting a token of their first share of the social scheme for the old. The cash may seem quite smidgen to get them through even a week in the estimation of most of us in the city, but you have no idea the little #5000 can do for the old living in our rural areas where most of them grow their food than buy them as we do. It is better than nothing!
Some of us saying government should create more jobs and stop this are either inherently callous and wicked or are taking a course in witchcraft in one the South African Universities where the study of witchcraft has been recently approved. While creation of jobs is a must-do, it is entirely different from social scheme. Kindly get that right. Even in the U.S where unemployment rate is comparatively low, the U.S government still doles out various social packages for the old to help them slog through. While the government must create more jobs, should the old folks be neglected to starve? The old folks cannot and should not be brook to work even if there are many jobs opportunities. Hence, the importance of welfare/social scheme for them. And, this scheme though not ample and sufficient enough, is a sure positive harbinger for greater things to come for Nigeria in terms of welfare and social schemes.

You might say "abegi, leave that thing guy! na propaganda or advance buying of vote." Sir, the beneficiaries of this scheme care less provided this scheme can be sustained and expanded to cover virtually all parts of Nigeria while the propaganda last. Isn't it shameful that for over 16 years of PDP leadership, not one PDP president ever came up with this propaganda idea to feed the poor and aged but rather stashed money away in various foreign and personal accounts? Better a propaganda that will take care of the old than nothing!

Having pointed those out, I want to call on some of the top APC members who are reading this to prevail on the government not to stop at just sharing 5k to the old folks suffering in our villages. The social scheme should please be expanded to include the following for the old

1). Medical aid i.e free medical service via a health insurance scheme even for those who didn't work on any white collar or government gig.

2). Public housing for the old folks who are living in decrepit mud houses and

3). Monthly food stamps.

These will go a long way to improve the quality of their lives.

I believe with little but consistent steps as this social scheme, Nigeria will be great again!

God bless APC!
God bless Nigeria!

E. Paul
A concerned and passionate Nigerian.

So social intervention program is just for food for one week abi? Mediocrity has killed you guys in Nigeria. You reason like animals. So celebrating poverty is what you are doing. Social intervention program that still live the people benefiting from it in abject poverty. If these money is used to build hospitals in various wards it will help the people more than giving them 5k to feed for a week (most of them will even spend it in less than 3 days).

People line up for this things NOT because they will die if they are not given these things, but because it's free, these women in the picture are old some 50 years and over, they've been surviving without the 5k and will continue to survive without the 5k. Without the 5k they will NOT die.

Why not provide them with electricity, hospitals and fertilizer subsidy, something that will truly empower them instead of money that some of them will just spend in a day or two. How do you guys reason?

Ogah shutvup with all ur rants.... Was there even something like this in place before now?

Its people like u that encourage evil, the govt is trying to improve all those things, and still put stipends in place... And u trying to downplay all that..

Maybe you think all this will happen overnight.....if u don't like the idea, go and take the money from them...

Nobody cared about the likes of these who only hear about what government says they are doing through their radios.

Teach men how to fish rather than giving them fish.
This is a continuation of the stomach infrastructure which the corrupt governments of this world thrive on.
With the inflation rate in this country, what can N5,000 really do in a month, foodstuff, water, soap,?

If it is called social investment fund, what type of investment has been achieved with 5,000 stipends?

- These women have children, if their children fall sick , will 5,000 solve? Investment would have been to equip existing hospitals and build new ones where neccesary
- If their children need school fees, will 5,000 address it? Social investment would have been to revamp the decayed educational system , equip schools with good teachers and monitor to ensure teaching standards are upheld. These children will grow up with quality education and like the african tradition, will take care of their parent needs, they really would not be in this state. The real issues would have been addresed from the root rather than cutting a treee from the branch.

Social investment should be aimed at empowering people to be self sustaining on the long run and not give people short term stipends that make them dependent.

The government that can not even equip the state house hospital for the president and his family to treat themselves is doing what exactly? If the president can not use state resources to build a hospital that can save his life and the life of his family membees in Nigeria how do you expect him.to help you? By throwing 5000 naira your way monthly as if you are a rejected rat or what? The president's pets (if he has any) feed on tens of thousands monthly. Poverty mentality and mediocrity will not allow you see beyond your nose.
