Gazzuzz please what could be the cause of re occurring over heating... both fans working, double cell radiator, radiator still intact. Radiator coolant present.

Ac compressor changed recently. Overheating occurs mostly on long distance, whether traffic or no traffic. Rises above normal a bit for a long time... then gets hit thereafter. With or without AC

faulty radiator, faulty water pump, Faulty head gasket.

Start by checking the simple things like pressure cap (radiator cover), Fan direction, restricted airflow.

Evening oga Gazzuzz.
This Toyota corolla 2006 bank type I bought from someone uses water in the radiator. The fan works occasionally, I guess the thermostat is intact. Is it okay to switch to coolant now?
Also, the previous owner didn't have a particular Brand of engine oil. What is the best one to go for in this circumstance?
I intent changing the Transmission fluid too, it's manual. Any recommendations?
Thanks again

At the level of your organisation.... I'd not be surprised if the police is setting you up....

Didn't even consider this. Gazzuzz. It's not that it didn't have VIN plates. They were removed and the remaining one scratched off. This is the exact response I got from my Auto Assistant when I asked how they got the year with no VIN in the system:

"He told me the year, he was kind of rude, when I asked for the papers, and his email, but was able to get the other information!"

Reject the poisonous offer. My candid advice. Before you are asked for the missing plates... Then you'd hear your shop is where they manipulate stolen vehicles for sale

I gave my Honda Civic 2008 to a mechanic. The suspension, AC and brake needs to be repaired. After diagnosis, he sent me the following:

Ac repair - 15000
Front and back brake pad - 12000
Master brake - 12000
Front shock - 25000
Front linkage - 4000
Front stab bushing - 1000
Ball joint - 8000
Low arm bushing - 4000
Steering range - 35000
Plug - 7000
Nozzle - 6000
Engine oil - 6000
Gear oil - 8000
Total - 143000

I would like to confirm if these prices are not inflated before sending the money so as to know if I should go carry my car from him and find someone trustworthy.

I plan to use the car for uber. Do u think civic 2008 is good enough for uber?

Thanks

i contacted kazeem to check the radiator and he was surprise to see that the water is actually from there, now he is talking of servicing of brainbox and working on the gearbox

kindly advise pls

thanks

This has nothing to do with the computer (brainbox).

You will need to replace the radiator, and may need to install a bypass cooler (for peace of mind). Either way, you will need a new radiator.

On the gear, you can have it rebuilt and the torque converter replaced, or replace the gear itself.

Water is never good in a transmission.

The leakage that caused your problem is the separator between the coolant part and the atf part in the radiator. It may or may not have been there at the last transmission replacement, so may be unfair to callout your mechanic on that. A safer option is to install external cooler.

Yes, the converter is the one attached to the gear. It should be between 10-15k used. New radiator should be around 30k.

Good luck.

mileage of car would be nice, also change to coolant, and stick with 20w50 engine oil and drain and refil every 3-5000km max.

Gazzuzz please i need your help with a diagnosis. Been doing little tune ups and maintenance on a 2001 toyota camry. Since the time i can remember, whenever I check the output voltage on from the upstream O2 sensor I have always gotten a reading of 3.xx V. However, checking online I saw that the normal voltage shoud be between 0.1V and 1.0V at worse. Yesterday i got another O2 sensor just to confim, i got the same reading. Now the crazy thing is when i disconected the O2 sensor. Check engine light came on (P1135 error code or so)... funny thing is ECM was still reporting reading of 3.xx V even while the sensor was disconnected. Pls how do I resolve this?

seems you are having some daunting issues here grin

Sorry iv been carried away with the rebuild repair - thread and I skipped this.

The 3.3 volts is a PCM generated representative voltage. It is not the actual output reading. That would be in milliamps. It will stay relatively steady as long as the mixture does not change rapidly.

An oxygen sensor will typically generate up to about 0.9 volts when the fuel mixture is rich and there is little unburned oxygen in the exhaust. When the mixture is lean, the sensor's output voltage will drop down to about 0.1 volts. ...

use a more advanced diagnostic equipment to see all the voltage readings.

Hope clear now?
