Some say back to regional government
Some say resource control
Some say review of constitution.

Don't quote me saying all these can't happen without review of the constitution cause I already know that.

But some would just say review.. Without saying the parts to be reviewed.

Restructuring in a combo of all three points

Seriously, when you consider the set of people they are positioning for Igbo Presidency, you weep

People like Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu, Ngige. SMH

It's better they restructure now for rapid development rather than wait for your turn before you can develop
that is why I will rather vote an outsider than my kinsman. The current crop of igbo leaders are useless to ndi-igbo much less to the entire nation.

God bless you OBi, we don’t want PDP, APC or ABCD party restructuring plan . We have one already that the whole Nigeria was involved used that to implement it. Without that forget Nigeria WILL NEVER GET BETTER because of all our bad LEADERS.

Like I said it's just your own opinion.
Restructuring means different things to different people.

Just because your own restructuring means regional government does not mean other people will follow your idea. Some people would say the power at the center is too much which I also agree. Some would say resource control..some would say state policing is the solution. While some would just say CONSTITUTION REVIEW bluntly.. Without saying what part..And resource control is different from regional government.

Stop bringing complexities where there is none.

To restructure, the constitution would first be reviewed. The constitution would be reviewed to allow regional government. Regional government would mean resource control and devolution of power.
State policing is part of resource control.

He is probably the best even among the other political gladiators around from other ethnics..

It is just a shame he is not in the real center of power.

but what baffles me and sometimes get me angry is wen a common citizen also says that they don't know wats restructuring... To me,its just plain stupidity

In fairness many people just want to get on with their and not have worry or think about anything to do with politics or politicians...head in the sand apprach but it works for them. This is why we have to force the politicians of all parties to talk about restructuring during the campaigns so that the uninformed become informed. During the coming election campaign I personally do not want to hear 'I will build roads, school, borehole, electricity infrastructure' etc

No president can restructure Nigeria for now. All those saying that are doing so for election purposes.

Despite federal government giving monthly allocation to states, many can’t pay salaries, no meaningful and tangible projects in Nigeria.

When the Nigeria is restructured, where will many states get money to pay salaries, do projects and other welfare.
Many governor will privatize everything in the state to raise money, many states properties will be sold off.

We are not ripe for restructuring at all, this is the same mistake we made in 1960 when they gave us independence, till today we’ve not done ourselves any good.

And the sad thing is that he cannot decamp to the pdp or APC. His credibility will suffer.
But I think he should decamp, so that igbos can support him.
As long as he remains outstanding in whatever party he is, he will stand out.

You are correct. The important thing is during the campaigns we force the politicians into committing to a side of the arguement, difficult but it is not impossible. Many of us are tired of 'I will build roads, school, hospital' campaigning

In the United States, there are rich and poor states.

Some states in America have wealth the size of an African continent, some states are as poor as Nigeria.
It is a reality everybody will have to face.

The poorer states would have to cut their coats according to their cloth, elect better leaders, and politics would become less financially rewarding since there is no free oil Money coming from Abuja except during natural disasters that requires federal government intervention.

That is progress.

a very respected, articulate and educated monarch. I always listen when he talks because I know he has good points.
I think Nigerians need to come together and decide for the best political system to move the country forward.
The current system is not working it's rather encouraging division and strive. We need a system that should encourage competition for economic growth.

its basically the same thing, regional government or states the main focus of restructuring is resource controlled by the federating units i.e the states or the regions not the federal government, we are no more in the military era why should we continue with their system.

All presidents has the power to restructure Nigeria, the best chance we had was Gej but he foot dragged because he was courting votes from the North, we have 6 political zones currently 4 is yearning for restructuring, which is basically resources control, if you control your resources most of what is in the exclusive list of the FG will automatically be in the concurrent list, power will dissolve from the center to the federating units, be it regions, province or states what ever lexicons you want to put it.

This is good example and I agreed with ur point.
But the structure of America is different from the one here. Many things shld be put into place first before restructuring.
The only thing federal government shld do for now is to return power to the grassroots.
70% of state allocation to shld go to it local government.
Local government shld do most things most things for themselves like it’s done between 1999 to 2007.
Let’s see how perfect we can do this first.

on the 1st stanza, Ironsi was misled.

he felt Niger Area can be ruled with a crocodile staff.

we can not know more than the British who created 3 confederate regions.

decree 34 cost him his life in a counter coup.

our dirty politics from 1963 brew crisis.

the ruling North and East divided the opposition West

by creating Mid-West but refused to create Middle-Belt and COR* region.

*(Calabar Ogoja Rivers provinces region)

if Nigeria had 6 regions in 1966 the Biafra war would have been averted.

today we have "36 nonsense"

WHO DOESN'T KNOW THAT THE NORTH ARE AFRAID OF RESTRUCTURING , THEY ARE A BACKWARD PEOPLE THAT ARE PULLING THE NATION BACKWARD. DESPITE THE YEARS THEY HAVE HELD POWER THEIR REGION IS STILL VERY WRETCHED AND RIDDLED WITH LARGE NUMBER OF ILLITERATE PEOPLE, DISEASED DISORIENTED POPULACE . YOU HAVE HELP POWER FOR DONKEY YEARS BUT A THIRD OF YOUR PEOPLE ARE BEGGARS. THE NORTH ARE A LIABILITY TO THE NATION. THEY ARE AFRAID OF BEEN LEFT BEHIND BY OTHER REGIONS.
