Why do an online piggy bank while you can save in a bank. I work for a mortgage bank, we have a savings scheme where a staff comes twice or trice a week to pick up cash and deposit it right there before you (you receive credit alert) before leaving. This is a scheme that will help you save for rent, school fees etc.

@OP just open a savings account in your regular bank. Move your money into that on a regular basis. Done. Some banks have standing orders that can transfer automatically for you, and you get interest on it. A lot of times the funds are not linked to your current account ATM, so no chance of somebody getting it. You can also start a savings in another bank and never use that ATM.

No app can help you save what you don't already have, plus its risky to put your money in an institution you can't visit, in my opinion.

Esus doesn’t come with interest.
With piggy bank, your money is saved in UBa
And you get 6% interest annually.

For the safelock package, you get 25% of your I trerest on deposite

I heard about Piggybank for the first time on Instagram. So, I contacted them, confirmed their physical address, checked that they were licensed by the CBN and NDIC. However, I noticed there was a disparity between their current address and the address stated on the NDIC list. I queried it and they explained that it was the former address of the Microfinance Bank whose licence they acquired. They promised to update their address with the regulator. Anyway, with fear and trembling in my heart, I started with them and no problems so far. It has been good testimonies about them so far so I ploughed in and locked six figures but I am still concerned. The upfront interest payment on deposits is great but is it sustainable considering Nigerian market realities?

Follow up: I have been banking with PiggyVest for over 6 months now and no regrets. It is not MMM or a wonder bank. Their interest rates are even lower than what obtains in an investment house. It is really a Financial Technology (FinTech) company that is disrupting mainstream banking the way Facebook and social media disrupted mainstream media, airbnb disrupted the hospitality industry, ride-hailing (Uber and Taxify) disrupted the transportation industry and online education is disrupting traditional classroom, face-to-face education. It is totally safe and insured. The main attraction for me is the Safelock feature. Notice whenever you save up a sizeable sum, something ridiculous just comes up like ‘Hello! Segun! Ibolowa? Grandma has swallowed a cutlass! Send money!’ Well, with Safelock, you cannot touch the money at all! I am amazed at how much I have been able to save in just 6 months of locking funds away without being able to touch them! I have been to PiggyVest’s Lagos office and if you want, and your savings are sizeable, they can prepare embassy visa support letters for you for free! How cool is that?

Who are those discouraging you? They don't love you and they won't spare you a dime when you run to them. I have been using piggybank (now piggyvest) since early 2018, I have had no issues with them. Instead they have helped me curb my reckless spending habit and helped me save more. They have amazing features, like target savings, safelock and lots more. Honestly I feel like it's the best decision I have made all life.

Diamond Bank has drowned, Piggyvest is still here.

Irony of life.
