That batch I got were used, so I might not be seeing the whole picture but the batteries held up quite well despite my ignorant abuse then ( deep discharges coupled with a locally built inverter) and only eventually died because I tampered with them. BlackBaron: |

I keep on hearing about axpert clone and Indian inverters etc can't properly charge a tubular battery and then I ask is it not the same manufactures of said tubular batteries manufactured the inverters too especially India brand? If u go to Indian forum where tubular batteries are popular you'd see some using their tubular batteries with Indian inverters for 5yrs plus. I can understand the issue of equalizing said batteries for longer life but I cannot understand why these inverters won't charge the batteries till float. Every tubular battery manufacturing there own specs including minimum and maximum allowed charging current. So I don't think we'd use same voltage figures for all tubular batteries. Some even will say charge current of FLA batteries should not be more than 10% of battery capacity yet I have seen people here using inverters and cc with over 20% of battery capacity to charge FLA batteries in 5 hours or less. Meanwhile my bro has been using his Eastman 2kva 24v hybrid inverter with Eastman tubular batteries for past 6 months and it has been serving him well. I don't want to spend that kind of money and be regretting that's why the research is still ongoing 1 Like |

Namzy: THE MEAT OF THE MATTER IS THAT ANY INVERTER, THAT DOESNT HAVE BATTERY type selector switch or adjustable charge voltage setpoints, will not charge any battery well, moreso an fla battery. the old style luminous/simba/cyberpower inverters lacked this important feature, but used same algorithim for charging all battery types - this is bad!! |
