Click on windows key+R and type in msconfig

Locate startup and remove the tick on applications you already installed on your laptop e.g Adobe reader, chrome etc. And apply then restart your laptop.
Applied your settings. It's still damn slow. Here's the system information:

Hello everyone.

I charged my laptop [ a dell E6410] to100% yesterday before going to bed. Now I woke up to use it only to find out it won't boot. I plugged it again and it was showing me the yellow low battery indication light after booting. Yet the battery is full. If I unplug it, it will go off immediately just like there's no battery in it, yet there's is one in it and it's showing fully charged.

Again the battery is showing five blue led lights and this is my first time of seeing something like that. The light comes on automatically even after I switch it off. The battery is barely a month old. What can I do?

That's where the Issue is grin. Y'know, D420 is a lower series to D620. So the physical memory it can accommodate is really small hence the low available memory...

So, your best bet is to get another PC. Adding 1gb memory for to another 1gb could make the PC not to even come up... there's a possibility OP must have tried this...

Possible fault

1. Battery (check with another battery to confirm)
2. Motherboard issue

Hello,

How does one know for sure that his system has been compromised?

Lately my system has been overworking, overheating as if too many processes are simultaneously running. That is even when I'm only surfing the net and probably using notepad.

The fan keeps humming away, Windows Script Host is disabled, the keyboard seizes and a host of other issues.

Any pointers to what may be wrong? Because I suspect coin miners may have gained access to it

Please someone should help me out,my Lenovo ThinkPad X240 fell from a table in the office and will not display after booting which made me to take it to a repairer. After diagnosing it was discovered that the HDD is damaged and it was changed to another of 250G from a 320.
Now,the problem after installing windows 10 it will take a longer time to booth and the screen's brightness is so sharp that it can damage one's sight in a matter of weeks. I have tried every possible know in the settings menu to reduce it but to no success and the F5 and F6 buttons works by showing it decreasing or increasing but it has no effect on the brightness.

Hi...
You need to install the required display drivers before you're able to adjust brightness.

If possible, you should go back to where you changed the hard disk. they should be able to help.

*Cheers*

More than enough pointers

Hello.
Sorry this might a bit late.

>>>Run a full scan on your PC<<<
You'll definitely pick up something...If there is visible evidence that processes are running, chances are that your antivirus or firewall was not up to the task... So you'll have to uninstall it and install a new one. Then Scan your PC.

>>>Your Best Bet<<<

This will be a total clean up of your hard drive.
Remember, your antivirus can only do so much in terms of protection let alone dealing with the malware it self.

Now you'll back your files in a safe external disk (If you can live without those files, then fine)

The re-install the OS freshly by wiping all partitions first.

After you're done installing the OS, Install antivirus(preferably a paid version), then run the antivirus program before inserting the storage where you copied your files into. Now you move your files.

*Cheers*

Hello.

Basic troubleshooting should help in this situation...

**Chances are the hard drive is gone. Try another hard drive.

**Check with another installation media

**You may also try the hard disk on another system...you could be suprised...

**Cheers**

BTW, What kind of Laptop is it?

My first recommendation would be to check installation media. Preferably download and burn to flash drive

The system is not detecting it.

Possible fault.

1. Dvd drive is bad
2. Dvd drive connector is bad
3. Dvd drive connector is not getting the required voltage or not transmitting or receiving the required signal.
