Which company will 500m get one on their Board? University Press Plc, Cutix. There are not many listed companies that will fit this decision.

Ha ha ha ha

My response will NOT help you because

1) You don't know my age and investment horizon
2) You don't know my risk profile
3) You don't know my investment objective

Anyway, with N500m, I will go for a cross deal and acquire 10% of a company and get a place on the board smiley

I spoke with the CFO and he was sooo rude - hung up even though I was the one doing the calling. Do you have anyone else? I used to deal more with Morayo when I still traded actively.

Oh I see. CFO might have a lot up his sleeve when you called and might not be able to attend to customer's request. Not making excuse for him anyway, I no kuku know am. cheesy

Numbers don't tell all the story especially when the numbers is based on UNAUDITED accounts. It is not strange for auditors to reverse/reclassify Half year results.

AIICO's problem is more than NUMBERS. Someone on SMN was their CFO at a point.

...I agree with u.
In principle, there is more to stock market Investment than just Fundamentals.
...even a little more than to Technicals and Market Sentiment at any point in TIME !!

Folks should simply KNOW what they want, and learn to balance 'a bit of everything'.

N500m will get you 10% of a number of insurance companies to start with! Just take a look at those N0.20 stocks tongue

Again that is IF my objective is to get on the board and do a turnaround.

I pay little emphasis on unaudited half year results.

Whenever a company declare a double digit growth where population and economy is growing in single digits, you need to ask what they are doing to achieve those growths! Companies do 'cook' books especially unaudited accounts. Even audited ones are not foolproof.

Insurance companies that will have a lot of holes to cover. You spend 500m to be on the Board and discover you need nothing less than 5billion to turn the company around.

I like ur style. ...It's a good one.

However, u do know that one of the cardinal RULE of stock market Investing is;
-Never lose money.
-Never forget that u should NOT lose money.
In a figurative sense, It doesn't mean that an Investor is resistant to any loss. ...It means that they NEED to PUT IN PLACE a method/strategy that will help them WIN more and LOSE less.
The Stock Market was, is and will always be riddled with plenty of uncertainties, but personally, this has always been a helpful guide and it works just fine.

Regards.

Once you have CONTROL, you can even chop the N5bn turnaround money tongue

At that stage it is all ABOUT control. Ask yourself how the loss making companies are constantly able to pay the executive management tongue Or are they working for FREE

the main reason aiico is on fire;
they are the only listed composite insurance company to meet the Tier 2 (proposed), Control 1, requirement for the new capitalization regulation.

A very Good afternoon to Everyone in the house. I would like to commend every contributor on this forum. Amazing work you are all doing. I've been following this thread since 2005 (perhaps even earlier sef not sure now) but from the days of Dexter, CP, Mercylicious, BigAss, MyJoy etc and have gathered tremendous amount of knowledge; so much that if I had to pay for I wouldn't be able to afford. Many Thanks again. God bless your generous hearts.

I have immense respect for fxuser, OGG, wanajo, oga Emma and CP - Such invaluable assets you are. Hyness and parisfran are also such commendable women.

If I bought FO at N57and still hold at current price, I will never sell until it rebounds even if it goes to N1 before doing so.

Na this 'pay' catch my attention here. You were right, if you should be billed back to 2005, na serious gbege be that........ but errrmm, since you showed up now, dont worry about that, just calculate your membership fee $1000/annum and damages $1500/annum since 2005 up to date and pay into Nsempa purse. We dey find new cutlass seriously now. Nagode. tongue

Y're welcome.
Morgan is a lot more better now. It's even been long I read anyone's complaint about them here. Understand that each brokerage firm might have one issue or the other peculiar to them too, it doesnt mean one will keep changing them unless it's absolutely necessary.
All the best dear.
