How many games did he even get to start? Only two. Haba!!! In the games he featured for more than 50 mins, VVV never lost. And that only happenened twice. He played his part in those positive results. He came into his debut in that first first game and rescued a point for his new side. I guess that did not force his coach's hands abi? After his heroics, he got only 15 mins and 14 mins in their next two games. This shows VVV just didn't wanna give him enough playing time. What better way to make a great first impression than a debut goal at the death to rescue a point for your team huh? And you say he didnt make any iota of impact. Funny. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

Uhmmm... It actually does not matter what you think. Rohr is taking the lad serious and have invited him. So relax and observe. Lol charlesemeka85: 2 Likes |

TheSuperNerd: Holland second tier is not higher.. Portuguese second tier is even worse than Holland. |

TheSuperNerd: Osimhen, Aaron Samuel and Chidi Nwakali have also been invited. Forget invite, Nwakali is unlikely to play... He needs to step it up at club level and challenge himself. No more second tier loans. Except it is to big countries. 2 Likes 1 Share |

that is because currently aside few euro-born players who we hope to get to play for us we lack quality young midfielders coming up the ladder. if we had better young midfielders playing in decent leagues i doubt rohr would have considered nwakali for a possible call up TheSuperNerd: |

So you are comparing Arnaut to K.Nwakali... do they even play in same position? How many players of African Origin do you think are given a chance as Attacking Midfielders huh? How many? Arnaut is a winger. Lots of them gets multiple chances... But K.Nwakali.. this lad is an attacking/central midfielder. I can only point to Ziyech at Ajax and even Belhanda at Galatasaray who are doing their thing as Pure Central AMFs in Europe. There are a few others but Ziyech and Belhanda are the most prominent. Most African Midfielders that get chances in Europe are mostly defensive Midfielders and Central Midfielders (with some physical qualities) BUT as AMF... The list is very short indeed. And yes there is progression from Holland tier 2 to Portugal's tier 2. There is but it is not that pronounced. Let K.Nwakali be and let him have his full season... The lad is super talented and at least is trying to make headway in Europe as an AMF. It is not easy Biko. K.Nwakali is at Porto B at least. He is doing far better than Chidi Nwakali, Azubuike Okechukwu and many others too. tbaba1234: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Nope. Portugal tier 2 is only slightly higher than Holland tier 2. And in no universe is Scotland or Norway that is 10 or 13 places lower than Holland better than Their Tier 2. Even Portugal Tier 2 is way higher than Norway. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: My point is simple, the boy needs to make the step up and challenge himself otherwise he will never make the Arsenal first team and could easily end up where Osimhen and Chidi Nwakali have found themselves. At a lower level. 1 Like 1 Share |

ghanaian midfielder donsah started playing in the serie A since 2015 when he was just 18 abi 19. diawara (hope i got his name correct) is just a year older than nwakali but is rated among the best midfielders in serie A where he plays for napoli, frank kessie is a regular with italian giants ac milan and have been playing in the serie A when is was 20yrs old, morroco's armine harit is 21 and a regular in schalke 04, our own joel obi, eddy onazi and mikel obi were playing for lazio, inter and chelsea when they were nwakali's age and you are here giving excuses that vv venlo's coach prefered oda players to nwakali. nwakali rape the man daughter? 7 Likes 1 Share |

Portugal is a big country in Europe. It is a top 7 league in Europe. And what happens if K.Nwakali does get to play? Lol... One thing you have to realise is that the lad is an AMF and it is likely that Rohr will want to see him as an option to address our AM challenge as we need to explore our available options in that role. K.Nwakali's invite prospectively addresses a challenge in our Midfield in Mikel's absence and last days as Super Eagles Midfield Marshal. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Portuguese tier 2 is essentially under 23 football. That is where Nwakali has found himself. Which league is better is just Semantics. The boy needs to step up and soon. |

and is nwakali an attacking midfielder? no good coach will play him in that position because he lacks the agility, pace strength to strive in that position. nwakali's best position on the pitch is the central midfield position. and mind you the number 10 position is fading off fast in modern football. players like iwobi and ebere ezeh are the best bet for that position in the current super eagles, also they are versatile whereas they can play from the flanks TheSuperNerd: |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:39am On Sep 01, 2018 |
I always knew you were looking at K.Nwakali with the Arsenal fans' eyes... lol Listen Tbaba. Arsenal is not the only team in the world. It is not a must he plays for your club to become a success or fulfills at least more than half of his huge potentials. Tu comprends? And yes, the lad is not at a high level just yet but he is at a decent level so saying he has done nothing is very misleading indeed. The lad is growing and though it may seem slow, he is still on course at least. So don't be in hurry to close the door on the lad. Apply patience and watch his progress this season at Porto. Finito. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: And Nwakali is playing in a second tier club in Portugal. Terrible level at this stage of his career especially as he already has 2 seasons of second tier football under his belt. He needs to be stepping up. 1 Like 1 Share |

And step up he will. I am sure he knows this himself. Two seasons or Specifically One full season and one half season in Holland Tier 2... But now at Portuguese tier 2 at the second team of one of Portugal's Elite clubs. I think his progress is still on course. He has not taken a step down. His curve is still straight and slightly upwards... So cut him some slack and chill. tbaba1234: 1 Like |

And who else apart from Ziyech, Harit and Belhanda?? Can you please name like three more perhaps in very very decent sides? That is my point. The number is very small. AMs from Africa in Europe are a rarity. And from the short list of very few AMs from Africa there is none of Sub-Saharan Africa even. I can point to Ajagun at Kortrijk but that is not high enough when talking top level clubsides. So try understand K.Nwakali's challenge. This is part of what he faced at VVV. charlesemeka85: 1 Like |

Porto B is not a youth team. They have an U-19s. That is the whole truth. And K.Nwakali was invited from that team. Portugal 2nd tier is higher than most country's top leagues in Europe including Norway and Scotland. charlesemeka85: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Iwobi is just 22 and is far better than Harit. Samuel Kalu who is 21 (clocked it just few days back) is also better. See? I am using our other early twenties to show you that Quality is relative... charlesemeka85: 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hahahahahahaha... Tell that to Yaya Toure at Barca when Pep kicked him out. Look, in football, it is not always straightforward that you will play because you are good. We have fantastic AM talents scattered all over Africa... Tell me why we have so very few doing their thimg in Europe. It is like a trend. We hardly see AM players of African origin scattered across Europe. But we see an abundance of DMs and Wingers. charlesemeka85: 1 Like |

Same way his mates are also featuring in Poland 2nd tier, Norwegian league, Egyptian league and Leagues way lower than his present decent level. Look, like I once said pages ago, the race for every player is never the same. Allow them develop at their own pace. So far K.Nwakali is in Portugal Ledman Liga Pro and playing for the second team of Portugal's best Elite side. This is a slight step up from Holland tier 2 whether anyone likes it or agrees with it or not. Let us see where he goes from here.. If you saw Drogba at 20/21, you would have bashed him calling him a useless talent even going as far as saying his mates are all way ahead of him. But we all have the blessing of hindsight to see how Drogba turned out despite coming into true prominence at age 24. charlesemeka85: 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 1:18am On Sep 01, 2018 |
Very untrue. Portugal just began their U-23 league this season and that is wayyyyy different from the Ledman Liga Pro. It is like what you have in England. There is a Premier league 2 for U-23s but it is different from the English Championship. Portuguese tier 2 is way higher than Norway abeg and even Scotland. Portugal is leagues above both Scotland & Norway. Portugal is Top 7 for Goodness sake. tbaba1234: 1 Like 1 Share |

tbaba1234: Do you think is by him stepping up ? Remember not all youth player are given the chance to make first team At least he should be given a chance, some youth player are so good but they are not lucky to be given the chance Steve sidwell was never given a chance in the Arsenal team but he later earn a big move to Chelsea. Even Danny drinkwater was never given a chance at man united but he later earned a move to Chelsea Not all youth player has the trust of the coach 1 Like |
