Three members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the Osun State House of Assembly have defected to the Action Democratic Party in the state


The defectors are: Hon. Debo Akanbi who is representing Ede north, Hon. Tajudeen Famuyide representing Ilesha west and Hon Abdullahi Ibrahim representing Iwo local government


Amiloaded reliably gathered that as at the time of filing this report, members of the ADP have gathered in Osogbo on Saturday to receive them.


In attendance are the deputy governorship candidate of ADP, Prof. Adeolu Durotoye, Hon. Sunday Akere and Omooba Dotun babayemi

ADP will do more damage to Adeleke than APC in my opinion, because the party's flagbearer, Moshood Adeoti, is from the same senatorial district as Adeleke (Osun West), thereby diluting his votes in his presumed stronghold. Iwo people will turn-up/vote for their son. ADC candidate, Fatai Akinbade, is also from the same Osun West. I expect APC not to do badly in that district either, with towns like Ejigbo likely going APC. The election will be very interesting.

This might turn out to be a cakewalk for APC. Too many contestants from Osun west will split opposition votes the way it's looking. If Oyetola clears all 6 local governments in Ilesha (which is possible thanks to the incumbent governor's influence) plus ife east, win atleast most of the local governments in his own Osun central, and snatch one or two local governments from Osun west, he'll coast home to victory.
