Plateau should consider this option. The rail lines are major limiting factor of dry ports. G.E is taking of western narrow gauge lines so that issue will be solved im guessing.

I was about echoing the rail system issue. How I wished rail development can keep up the the rate of port expansion, the overall impact would have been tremendous.

Anyway, Sai BABA for being our President at such a critical time in out history

It's confirmed, eru ni Yoruba ma se ku!

How can goods be brought in through Lagos and the duty tax paid in the north? This is not to decongest Lagos ports but to have the Hausa & Fulani evade duty taxes.

How come no Yoruba is talking about this? How can you let other tribes take food out of your children's mouths? Yoruba's ports have been taken over by Hausa&fulani, with shiploads of weapons they will use to kill you brought in weekly and they now want to use Yorubaland to serve Nigeria, Chad and Niger republic without paying anything to the SW.

To decongest the ports, remove all the middle men and bribery and reduce the time it takes to clear goods, and build a place in Ogun for unclaimed goods with additional fees to clear or auction off.

Irankiran iran oshi gbaa ni Yoruba I swear!

Omo ale jati jati ni e....

Well said! The prospects for other functional Seaports in the Southern part of Nigeria was killed due to political sentiments.

It's quite unfortunate, Nigeria is yet to come to realization of the truth that no nation can attain sustainable development without a defined economic plan devioded of sentiments!

Nigeria can only make meaningful progress when we learn to separate POLITICS FROM ECONOMIC PLANS (DEVELOPMENTAL BLUEPRINTS)!

This arrangement will help exports, Very few business men with a time frame will wait for their cargo to get to plateau state, they will rather go clear it in lagos (at a reduced rate due to corruption) than in this new place where everything is monitored.

I hope all these dry ports are been linked with rail line to the sea port to decongest our roads of all these long trucks that are causing nightmare on our major highways. If not it is just another brainless project because it will be solving one problem while creating another bigger problem.

Where are the container holding bay and the equipment for moving and stacking the projected 20,000 equivalent containers. That project is anything but 70% completed i would rather put the completion percentage at a conservative 40%.

Good move by the economic advisory team to put up the dry port arrangement these ventures will definitely stimulate the economy of the targeted regions.

One of the major problems of buhari is that he does not broadcast his achievements — that is the reason why a crook like Saraki has the guts to challenge him

But that would soon change - the propaganda machine would be in full swing showcasing what pdp couldn’t achieve in 16yrs

The dry ports in other parts of the country help in the decongestion of Lagos. But we also need more seaports around the country to truly open up the country.

I like to have a rest in Primorsky Posad. Rest is good, sometimes I take my companion from https://escortpalmademallorca.info/ so that it's very good time to spend. The only thing that does not like is that the sea is very shallow.

It has nothing to do with politics, it's all about supply, demand, market and cost effectiveness. Te market and the folks buying, selling and making money in that market will dictate where, how to ship, collect and sell their goods.

Politics can not stand in the way of these factors and it's not by accident that the folks in the import and shipping business are not out there up in arms, crying and pleading with the government to alter the status quo.

Private interests in other parts of Nigeria and even Edo state Gov. are going ahead with their own seaports, but you can build all the ports you desire, you can not force people to use your ports or do what's not in their own best business interest.

Besides, the major markets are not in that part of the country so of what economic sense is shipping the same level of goods and services to that part of the country when in fact the major consumers are elsewhere.?

i 100% agree with this..... real de-congestion can only happen when other avenues of transporting containers are evolved and working. so far road is involved, there will always be congestion

I have been privileged to lead a Critical Project development team which brought about our meeting with past and present leaders of Nigeria. Please don't be deceived by what you read on papers, as well as the theoritical analysis by far-to-see media analyst...

The poor state of our Economic Infrastructure is a function of Political sentiments. I have first hand encounters with the "high and mighty" in Nigeria. In one of our meetings, after the presentation of an Economic Blueprint designed to transform Nigeria into a global economic/financial hub (with sophisticated economical infrastructures), we were clearly told: "IF AMERICA GETS TO KNOW THE CONTENT OF OUR PLAN, THEY WILL NUKE US RIGHT WHERE WE ARE!"

The above statement was made, by a respected leader in Nigeria, in response to the ECONOMIC BLUEPRINT WE PRESENTED, which was intended to reposition the economic structure of Nigeria so as to render global competition irrelevant!

The major challenge in Nigeria remains this: WE HAVE SHORT SUPPLY OF POLITICAL LEADERS WITH ECONOMIC SENSE! As long as this persists, Nigeria will never rise to fulfill its magnificient purpose!

this wasn't buhari project, read the article, it was approved years back but buhari choose to build el rufai own first
Re: Exclusive Pictures Of Jos Dry Port, With Analysis By Dr Chinnan Mclean by Blue3k2: 8:25pm On Sep 03, 2018
You've come to spread lies again. The concessionaire and funds to complete the project. Kaduna built the access roads to dry port and sign mou joint venture. Buhari and Federal government didnt do anything accept give approvals.

Lol Plateau is behind on dry port because the state wasnt proactive about oppertuinity. If you read the articles you would pick up those facts. You like wailing with zero facts.

Given the very strategic and important nature of the project to our state, it will be critical that PLSG buys equity (i.e., takes a share of the concession by becoming part owners) of the project. Buying equity will release capital to the concessionaire to complete the project, but will also ensure that Plateau shares of any profits that accrues from the venture (this is of course aside taxes that it will also collect). This is exactly what the Kaduna state Government did in accelerating the development of the Kaduna Inland Dry Container Depot.
