It is sad people expect so much from the church in a country where another seed paying religion spends govt money on their religion freely. How can a section of the population from part of their meager income start sponsoring the govt when the govt on another angle is sponsoring religious trips and fasting for other religion? Crazy !

There's nothing wrong with asking churches to do more for the physical welfare of the people.

The colonial churches understands that spiritual nourishment and physical nourishment goes hand in hand.

The Catholic church control 26% of world health care facilities. They also control a huge chunk of Schools worldwide.

And considering that churches in Nigeria are not taxed, they need to do more to give back to the society.

Only the members of a particular church can tell their church what to do, based on the resources they have and their vision. It's a basic rule of any NGO. The government and politicians who feed from taxes and national resources are the only ones who may be held accountable by the public.
