Super Eagles To Lodge At Savoy Hotel Resort Victoria For Seychelles Clash

Super Eagles will be lodged at the Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa in Victoria ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa is a four star hotel situated at the Mahe Island and it’s a 25 minutes drive from the Seychelles International Airport.

According to a media statement from the Nigeria Football Federation made available to Completesportsnigeria.com, Turkey –based forward Henry Onyekuru will be the first player to arrive at the team’s hotel on Monday morning as Nigeria begin preparation for Saturday’s clash with the Pirates of Seychelles.

The Galatasaray SK forward is expected to land in Victoria on the island of Mahe at 11am on Monday.

He is expected to be joined by Enyimba goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who will arrive with the Nigeria-based members of the technical crew and backroom staff two and half hours later.

Other invited players on the 24-man roster will arrive at the team hotel on Tuesday, with one group to come in before breakfast and another group expected at lunchtime.

Rohr has included three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and seven forwards in his list for the crucial match, with four other players on standby.

The Super Eagles are third in Group E behind Libya and South Africa after losing their first game to the Bafana Bafana.

The match-day 2 encounter on Saturday kicks off at 4.30pm Seychelles time (1.30pm Nigerian time), with both teams in need of the three points after losing their respective openers to the campaign 15 months ago.

Libya top Group E following a 5-1 whiplash of Seychelles who have installed a new coach in Gavin Jeanne. South Africa are second after beating the Super Eagles 2-0 in Uyo.

Toh we have been hearing since that he didn't have enough time to impress, but somehow he got 296 minutes out of a possible 810 which means he played for 37% of the time, if you can't achieve a single assist from the said time as an attacking midfielder then we have a problem.

Another issue is that he is playing as a side midfielder in Porto B now, in the long run will he be our saviour in the AMF position?

Putting matter into context of football the context of World football, is Kelechi any of these things in the NOW and HERE , CURRENTLY SPEAKING Talent and special are not constants they either go up or down. Last years talent can be this years failure, such is the nature of football.

I noticed that some have underpinned their deduction of Kelechi Nwakali talent on media reports, which are also fluid and time limited as well. He played in a holiday game against ATM non competitive and did ok. He scored that doesn't mean he was exceptional or outstanding. It is one game that's all , players are judged over a season or at least a few competitive games . Considering the evidence proven and substantiated he is not by any stretch of the imagination SPECIAL TALENT



He was undeservedly called up not by merit to play in a game to give him justification for the SE. The more balanced and pertinent question is if you played Ajagu, Aluko, Ejaria, Onomah, Aneke, Akpan, Ojo, Eze, etc , etc they probably would have done a lot better. However, they were denied OPPORTUNITY.

This happens a lot in football in England some players are denied OPPORTUNITY in preference for their favoured player because of the inducement of self interest i.e. back- hander.

Maybe a few years ago Kelechi won accolades and was rightly considered promising and special talent. But he is 20 years old now and the promises have not been fulfilled and his once special talent is no longer special. There are far better players even younger showing better potential.

I have seen hundreds of players like Kelechi up and down the top academies who cost ten times more even played first team football for EPL clubs. But a few years down the line they are playing non- league and trying to make there way back up.

Which is not a bad thing its better to be playing non league and be outstanding and make your way upwards than growing dust as an old youth with promise playing youth football in the name of Porto B. Porto B will struggle in the Conference North of non league that is how low it is.

If we ask these peeps the definition of special talent? Na Kelechi Nwakali, Chidiebere Nwakali, Samuel Chuchwueze etcetera hence dey deserved to be called to the national team.

Now, ask dem where are these 'SPECIAL TALENTS' doing exploits? Lower divisions or obscure leagues.

No doubt Samuel is a gene and a special one indeed but common sense will tell you there are players doing better than him in better leagues hence doesn't deserve a call now.

Unlike one who couldn't live up to expectations in a lowly Eredivisie second tier yet dem wan make I believe na special talent and he deserves to be called to the national team ahead of players doing better than him.

I see wayo people coined the word Special talent to get some certain players into the national team through the back doors devoid of merit and si unit standard of measurement of excellence.
