Super Eagles To Lodge At Savoy Hotel Resort Victoria For Seychelles Clash

Super Eagles will be lodged at the Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa in Victoria ahead of Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Savoy Hotel Resort and Spa is a four star hotel situated at the Mahe Island and it’s a 25 minutes drive from the Seychelles International Airport.

According to a media statement from the Nigeria Football Federation made available to Completesportsnigeria.com, Turkey –based forward Henry Onyekuru will be the first player to arrive at the team’s hotel on Monday morning as Nigeria begin preparation for Saturday’s clash with the Pirates of Seychelles.

The Galatasaray SK forward is expected to land in Victoria on the island of Mahe at 11am on Monday.

He is expected to be joined by Enyimba goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, who will arrive with the Nigeria-based members of the technical crew and backroom staff two and half hours later.

Other invited players on the 24-man roster will arrive at the team hotel on Tuesday, with one group to come in before breakfast and another group expected at lunchtime.

Rohr has included three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and seven forwards in his list for the crucial match, with four other players on standby.

The Super Eagles are third in Group E behind Libya and South Africa after losing their first game to the Bafana Bafana.

The match-day 2 encounter on Saturday kicks off at 4.30pm Seychelles time (1.30pm Nigerian time), with both teams in need of the three points after losing their respective openers to the campaign 15 months ago.

Libya top Group E following a 5-1 whiplash of Seychelles who have installed a new coach in Gavin Jeanne. South Africa are second after beating the Super Eagles 2-0 in Uyo.

Of course you won't understand the logic. Arsenal had to look at youngsters they are considering at present for the first team for the 2018/2019 season. Players that were eligible for the season and for the cup competitioms especially. Nwakali even if given a chance to tour with Arsenal won't feature for Arsenal in 18/19 season so why waste that time? Simple logic but you laugh out loud because someone else does most of your thinking for you. So many loopholes in your viewpoints and info about K.Nwakali... shows you know almost nothing about this kid.

please tell me the bolded is not true...please tell me bro.
so unfortunate what a JSS1 student will understand with ease many adults with degrees still can't comprehend it.

these nwakali debate will soon be over....

Yeah, something special by leaving him out of matchday squads... I can see how special that is. Lol

And in the eredivisie, Solanke, as a striker, was less than impressive abeg. I remember when The Nacho-Solanke debate was on and we established the simple fact that Solanke underwhelmed in more minutes of football while Nacho excelled in lesser minutes of football.

And since the eredivisie journey, how exactly has he progressed? By being constantly frozen out of matchday squads? Is that your idea of Progress?

Did Kelechi Nwakali win one MOTM in the Eredivisie? Mbanu!

Did Dominic win one MOTM in the Eredivisie? See for yourself.

7 goals and one assist in 24 games from a 17 years old lad just coming from an academy tells alot.

No wonder Chelsea retained him the next season. The rest dey say his history.

Egbon... You know me. I choose my discussions. I won't go down this path okay. K.Nwakali never got a full game at VVV. He was never given a chance in nine games aiit. Only two of his games were mere starts (which saw him contribute to their win and draw) while the rest were time scraps of 14, 15, 11 mins and so on + he scored on his debut. He is a Midfielder... But Solanke on the other hand... Well, I think you should be more worried about his absence from Liverpool's matchday squads these days... I guess that says much for his high quality. Ciao. **Clicks**

Then stop passing falsehood. Ok!

Kelechi Nwakali started 3 games.

What did Kelechi Nwakali do with the three starts out of the 9 games he played?

How can I worry about a player who moved from Vitesse straight to Liverpool?

Lol... What is false in saying that Solanke underwhelmed in over 20 games with more than enough game time? While Nacho in same season was excellent in far less game time? Was that not the Nacho-Solanke debate back then? smiley SO WHAT IS FALSE?

And yes, just a slight error of counts, Kelechi started ONLY THREE GAMES. Even that 45 mins in that record is him coming in as a sub in second half. 3 mere starts scattered throughout... What is that? AND DID HE LOSE ANY GAME IN HIS STARTS? NO!! So what nonsense are you even saying about the lad?

It only bites you that Solanke's obviously average season in the eredivisie is so true. And you wanna use K.Nwakali, who had the littlest of game times in comparison, as cover to make Solanke excellent when he was actually poor or being more lenient, bang average.
Abeg... I don't repeat discussions I have had ages ago and buried. Fact remains K.Nwakali never got enough game time to show his stuff even after scoring on his debut.. what is 15 and 14 mins in your next two games after impressing in your first Cameo? Huh? Lol... Using K.Nwakali to promote the mediocre season Solanke had is bullcrap. I CANNOT HAVE THIS DISCUSSION. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

Okay, if Solanke had been so "excellent" all this while, what is he doing languishing outside Liverpool's match day squads week in week out? Huh? Falsehood indeed... Lol

Abeg bye bye... I got better things doing.

Toh we have been hearing since that he didn't have enough time to impress, but somehow he got 296 minutes out of a possible 810 which means he played for 37% of the time, if you can't achieve a single assist from the said time as an attacking midfielder then we have a problem.

Another issue is that he is playing as a side midfielder in Porto B now, in the long run will he be our saviour in the AMF position?

I am part of this debate, but my perspective is not emotive, sentimental, subjective and or discriminatory.

My position is for an EQUITABLE, SCORE CARD ASSESSMENT BASE ON MERIT , WHICH IS UNDERPINNED BY CONSISTENT, CONTINUOUS, OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE in your club and or league.

The term SPECIAL TALENT is being thrown around as if its something that is the exclusive preserve of one person to IDENTIFY and RECOGNISE. Rohr is not the person behind the inclusion of Kelechi alone, so stop making assumptions.

The question is raised is what is SPECIAL TALENT, so going back to basics as some seem to have convoluted the discussion, what is special
= exceptional, particular, extra special, unusual, marked, singular, uncommon, notable, noteworthy, remarkable, outstanding, etc. etc. about Kelechi

Putting matter into context of football the context of World football, is Kelechi any of these things in the NOW and HERE , CURRENTLY SPEAKING Talent and special are not constants they either go up or down. Last years talent can be this years failure, such is the nature of football.

I noticed that some have underpinned their deduction of Kelechi Nwakali talent on media reports, which are also fluid and time limited as well. Specifically the Spanish media MARCA which in 2017 had Kelechi in position number 45 -- http://www.marca.com/en/football/international-football/album/2017/03/26/58d7b20d468aebf6188b459a.html The report was dated early 2017 and was underpinned by Kelechi exploits in the U17. That report by MARCA is no longer tenable its history, of all the players they highlighted some way ahead of Kelechi most are still playing b team football.

So what makes him Kelechi SPECIAL He went to Eredivisie, considering his high billing and expectation calling a spade a spade he failed , then he dropped to the 2nd tier of Dutch football and also failed to make an impression, he is now playing in Porto B, he is now 20 years old. He played in a holiday game against ATM non competitive and did ok. He scored that doesn't mean he was exceptional or outstanding. It is one game that's all , players are judged over a season or at least a few competitive games . Considering the evidence proven and substantiated he is not by any stretch of the imagination SPECIAL TALENT

He was undeservedly called up not by merit to play in a game to give him justification for the SE. The more balanced and pertinent question is if you played Ajagu, Aluko, Ejaria, Onomah, Aneke, Akpan, Ojo, Eze, etc , etc they probably would have done a lot better. However, they were denied OPPORTUNITY.

This happens a lot in football in England some players are denied OPPORTUNITY in preference for their favoured player because of the inducement of self interest i.e. back- hander.

Maybe a few years ago Kelechi won accolades and was rightly considered promising and special talent. But he is 20 years old now and the promises have not been fulfilled and his once special talent is no longer special. There are far better players even younger showing better potential.

I have seen hundreds of players like Kelechi up and down the top academies who cost ten times more even played first team football for EPL clubs. But a few years down the line they are playing non- league and trying to make there way back up.

Which is not a bad thing its better to be playing non league and be outstanding and make your way upwards than growing dust as an old youth with promise playing youth football in the name of Porto B. Porto B will struggle in the Conference North of non league that is how low it is.

If we ask these peeps the definition of special talent? Na Kelechi Nwakali, Chidiebere Nwakali, Samuel Chuchwueze etcetera hence dey deserved to be called to the national team. grin

Now, ask dem where are these 'SPECIAL TALENTS' doing exploits? Lower divisions or obscure leagues.

No doubt Samuel is a gene and a special one indeed but common sense will tell you there are players doing better than him in better leagues hence doesn't deserve a call now.

In fact, I doubt a special talent like him will remain in lowly league for long if he continues with outstanding performance in such league.

Dele Ali moved from league 1 to EPL straight after outstanding performances. Lookman moved from obscure league to championship, to EPL and now £25 million was not enough to price him away from Everton. Onyekuru moved from Belgium second tier to Anderlecht and now Galatassary within the space of 3 seasons. Now, that's what I call special talent. Unlike one who couldn't live up to expectations in a lowly Eredivisie second tier yet dem wan make I believe na special talent and he deserves to be called to the national team ahead of players doing better than him.

I see wayo people coined the word Special talent to get some certain players into the national team through the back doors devoid of merit and si unit standard of measurement of excellence.

This kain of mago mago can lead to war if people perceive some peeps are playing on people's intelligence. Enough said.

on paper they are a really bad bad side. It's not really about Seychelles. It's about how we stand up against "weak" opponents. We are fresh from the world cup, and have been tested against big opponents. This is supposed to be a walkover considering we have familiar names in the squad. I'm not speaking about the scoreline alone.
