Jayboi007: Kindly provide the full name of the student here as I will personally get the root cause from both EMU registrar and the police chief at the Magusa station. This is the first time am reading this message and hence until I know then I can't propagate this message but feel free to share it via all medium you deem suitable to pass the message. But, as you know we have thousands of students from various countries studying and living in North Cyprus. It will be practically impossible for a police and the university to selectively deport a particular student. I reached this conclusion based on the fact that I lecture in north Cyprus, being part of a committee and faculty for university accreditation in North Cyprus where will meet every 3 months to discuss students and educational issues. The members of the YODAK committee are selected by an individual university and the meeting comprises police chiefs from each district, minister of education and registrar of each University. In 2012-2013; we had the case of some tiny group of Nigerian trying to form cultist group in Magusa and most were EMU students. Personally, I detest the cults, internet scammers (yahoo-yahoo) and drug peddlers here. We wrote a letter through the former EMU rector to the police to report 5 particular students masquerading the cultism activities, the chief police invited the student and he authoritatively stated that no way he can deport the said students without verifiable crimes committed and he does not know or understand what is cultism. They only advise the students to be of good conducts, till today those students are in Cyprus jumping from one Casino, gambling and yahooo activities. In summary, am not supporting the police, the university or TRNC. But am boldly saying no smoke without a fire. Having a valid residence permit does not provide immunity from being deported if such student commits deportable crimes or having disallowed diseases. In 2014, I was part of the team that escorted a Cameroonian student of EMU to the airport while he was being deported for stealing 5 laptops, 10 smartphones in DAU 3. The student goes by the name of Mohammed II Namakia. He was a 3rd year engineering student, he covered his head with hoodie and stole students phones while they were sleeping in DAU 3. He retained one of the phones for himself, the students reported to the police and the CCTV identified a male but difficult to analyzed. Unfortunate for him, the retained phone belongs to a Nigerian that has a cloud service registered to his email. The stolen phone was used to take pictures without him knowing that all pics taken were also saved in the cloud server. That was how his face was captured and he got arrested the second day. The other phones and laptops were already sold to PAWN shops, some money was retrieved and his studentship was revoked and deported. Upon arrival in Cameroon, he changed the narrative, he claimed racial profiling, ill-equipped university and various supporting pieces of stuff. He reported EMU to the ministry of education of Cameroon and his agent also revoked recruitment agency with EMU. It was after 1 month, EMU passed the actual reason for his deportation to the said Govt and agent before the issues were normalized. This is just a case and am not saying the person you reported here is same......but will be very nice if you can provide his full name and I will get the actual events. Thank you. 9 Likes |

what's the guarantee that one will be issued visa since one will still go for an enterview at the embassy despite the installment paid? wip7: |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 9:44am On Sep 01, 2018 |
Rityonyi: Paying part of the tuition after admission is offered is a common practice in the UK, Australia, Newzealand, Cyprus, and majority European Universities. And all applicants need to attend visa interviews at the designated embassies. Take note: The University is a different entity from the embassy. Only the embassy can decide who is found eligible to be issued a visa and University cant influence embassy decision. In summary......only bogus agents lie to their victims of 100% visa guarantee........University does not give VISA guarantee. However, the majority of the universities have tuition refund policies. Best wishes! |

Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 7:43am On Sep 02, 2018 |
Saswizzy2: Is not generally true. Students that comes late but before add/drop period easily passed through the immigration. After that period because intense. But immigration don’t just deport student, ensue you first send your flight ticke to your university and get their approval before embarking on the trip even if you will come late. |

Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 8:05pm On Sep 02, 2018 |
Ivory2: How many kids are we talking about? In a practical sense no free tuition secondary school, as they are expected to pay some monthly fee. Govt school The cheapest or sound like free is the government school which per kid likely pay 20-30,000 Naira equivalent this is for some reg and few things not actually tuition fee as tuition is free. The language of instruction is Turkish, meaning your kids will likely have some set-backs due to language issues. Private school The cheapest I know personally per month per kid is roughly 120, 000 Naira equivalent. Here the language of instruction is English and students learn other languages like Russian, German etc Infrastructure in schools is great. If you have too many kids, this means u should buy a car to carry them around. Accommodation for you and many kids means at least 2 bedroom flat should cost you around 350-600 USD without bills. 1 Like |

[Thank you for the information, they are really useful. Please do you have an idea what the tuition for Near East College/secondary school is? I hear the university has a college too. My daughter and I will be resuming at Near East university. Undergraduate and masters, my intention is that my other 3 younger kids will attend the university college, but I need to know what it will cost for the kids to attend the college before i take my final decision. I'm already making plans for a two bedroom apartment, for a cheaper one though, I hope I get one. As for a car no plans yet. If I can get full details for Near East College for international students I will appreciate. Thanks. quote author=wip7 post=70845023] How many kids are we talking about? Ivory2: Pardon me to ask, have you all got visas? I meant the entire family of 5? Yes, Near East College is a standard school and well facilitated. Unfortunately, I don't know the tuition fee but am sure won't come less than 1200 TL monthly (about 100k naira) since we have similar university college at my end. But you can visit the website, kindly call the school and ask all the questions you need answers to. Visit the web here and call their number: http://nec.k12.tr/contact/?lang=en Best wishes! |

Hello New Students, Congratulations on your admission and Visas ( best wishes to those yet to get theirs). I am a Masters student at CIU. As @Wip7 always say, be financially prepared before coming to the Island. Your first task will be to secure an accommodation. I can assure you, it is not the easiest as a new student. If you arrange airport pick up and you know nobody on the Island, you will be taken to the school hostel where you are to pay about 50 Turkish Lira per night. So be prepared to pay for your accommodation immediately. An idea of the fees is between 350 - 400 GBP per month (Lefkosa axis) for a 3 bedroom apt which can be shared. Contact me if you would like me to help you secure a place(your room) and save yourself from paying per night.. Welcome to Cyprus, you will love it here if you are clear headed. 1 Like |

Good day fam, Please I am a secondary school graduate, i am interested in starting my university education in Northern Cyprus, I would like to know if applications are still on and also if it's possible to get up to 70% or 100% tuition fee scholarship with a good WAEC. Result. Thanks you advice would be very much appreciated. |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 7:44am On Sep 09, 2018 |
AlanKlein: Application is still ongoing. At Cyprus Science university (CSU), you will be admitted with 60% scholarship and your fees per year will be 2600USD. We also have top-up scholarship that you can access from your second year, 10% more scholarship if you have CGPA above 3.8! You must ensure you have full funding (tuition fee or standby sponsor) before embarking on the and Journey and also funds for accommodation and living expenses. If you are interested to study, kindly update me with the documents! 1 Like |
