Ikmontana1:I will advise you Invest in Secondary market tomorrow ....i believe by tomorrow, the secondary market rates will go up...... It's not worth waiting till next week......Interest is calculated daily.......so you will loose more....the longer you wait, the more you loose...!!!!! 1 Like |

Gavrelino123:wait o... But how will secondary market price go up now; Is it not when other people break their Holdings that secondary market gets deals? Or do you think banks will start offerings better rates from their new, more profitable portfolio? I think he should wait.. I sure will. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Gavrelino123: 9:32am On Sep 03, 2018 |
RealityShot:Why should he wait..? I got 195 days @ 11.6% on last Friday.......!!! But when i made enquiries last Monday, the maximum was 11%...... 0.6% sub-rise. This is a common intelligence and understanding☄☄☄ Even if he waits for the next primary Auction,364 days should be around 12.5% or 12% as against the stop rate which is 13+.......Don't be surprised to see some banks bidding 12% or less.... The risk of failed bid...☄☄☄☄ I don't think it's worth waiting.....because he's also loosing in reality.....the numbers of days wasted..!! Have you forgotten that he's loosing each day he waits in the real valuation of time and interest..? Waiting for over a week..? Lol.............................. Oga....time is money...!!!! I understand you lucidly... 1 Like |

To my surprise, till this hour I've not been credited with my interest and ds is unusual of them. Please advise me on what to do. This is my third time of TB with Stanbic and it was not like that before |

Please does anybody have an idea of GTbank secondary market tenors and rates for today?. I intend going there tomorrow for secondary market. If they do not have anything attractive, i might as well wait for next week primary market. |

Ikmontana1:He was actually credited, the thing is that CBN has stopped sending the alert for the upfront interest, so he shouldn't rely on the credit alert but to go to the bank and confirm. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 7:37pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
Kemade2007: Confirm please as I know it to close by 3pm and starts by open of business, mails only come late to branches or sometimes the respective officers don't open mail on time. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by TONY56: 8:09pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
Kemade2007: I had same experience with them (Stanbic) on Fri 6th July 2018. I invested N1m at the secondary market for about 142 days at 11.5% and I was suprised to be debited almost same amount instead of the discounted amount of about N960,000. I had to call the TB officer to tell him that there was an error and I discovered that I even know more about treasury bills than many of them. Can you imagine that he was telling me that my interest would be paid at maturity to which I told him can't be correct because I did not reinvest my interest which of course Stanbic does not do. I stood my ground until they started begging me after about 3days and told me that they invested both my principal amount and the upfront interest in error. They asked me to exercise patience and that they would resell the difference but to avoid more complications I asked them to leave it like that. A lot of inexperienced TB officers are handling it in the banks now. If you yourself is not knowledgeable enough, they will confuse you. I can bet you that they invested your money together with its upfront interest just as they did to me. If you really need the upfront interest, then insist that they MUST pay you or report them to their head office and they will be sanctioned and the transaction will be amended and your interest paid to you. 4 Likes |
